We spent a week in Oahu at the lagoon tower the week of July 18th. we usually go to Maui or Bit Island so the pace took some getting used to. Just wanted to share to hopefully help someone.

We used Charley’s taxi service to get from the airport to the hotel. Was able to get a van for $34 there and $32 back. It’s not a traditional taxi (works like a shuttle) so you need to call them and let them know your pickup time. Alternatively you can use the website or the app. We also called them after we got our luggage to let them know we arrived. Instead of meeting them at the taxi stand we meet them at pillar 30. Price wise seemed to be similar to a Uber XL.

Checkin was at the grand Waikian @ 1811 Ala Moana Blvd., Honolulu HI 96815 if you just say Hilton you may get dropped at the hotel side lobby. There isn’t additional points/benefits for using your hilton honors card over any other points card. Room was ready early around 1:00 they text and let us know when it was ready, no digital keys on the timeshare side.

Nice rooms up to date and good size, kitchen is nice and functional, minimal amount of dishes etc like most timeshares. Bidet, enough said. Great view of the ocean from the balcony

In the grass area between the rainbow and lagoon tower there is a luau from 5-8 every night. It is loud, so we found somewhere else to be during this time, every night.

Mixed results with instacart - Costco was successful. Target failed twice. Per the bell desk once they receive the delivery they will call you and leave a message letting you know so you can get it delivered to your room. Unfortunately we were never informed by the bell desk about the deliveries. Just keep track it on your app instead. They put our freezer, items in the fridge I assume they don’t have time to sort the items so pick them up as soon as you can. Bell desk for the Lagoon tower does have a specific extension if you don’t have it and call the operator instead inform them the tower you are in so you get to the correct bell desk.

The target was only a 20ish minute walk, we took a Uber x large back for $11.00ish I think the smaller UBER was $8.00ish.

No laundry in the room. there is a washer and dryer around the corner though and they are free. It was convenient enough for us. I understand some of the other towers have laundry in the room. (Not sure which ones).

Hiltons charges around $57.00 a day for parking although there is parking at the harbor for $1.00 per hour @ 1651 Ala Moana Blvd Honolulu, HI 96815, we parked in lot P. Real easy to get to from lagoon tower, only a 10 minute walk. You pay via a vr code with Apple Pay I think the other option was google pay, that was easy enough to use. You can also manually enter your credit card using the VR code or maybe get the app before you go which is parkwiz. We rented a car for two days decided to return it at night instead of paying for an additional night of parking. Additional benefit was it gave me back my morning for pool/beach.

I believe there are 4 pools 2 of which have hot tubs, kali tower and the slide pool both close @ 6, so no hot tub at night. 4 slides in the pool by the lagoon tower, funnest one has hrs from 2-5.

No grill for BBQ at any tower, there are public BBQ’s down the walking path.

The water fountain to the left of the elevator has a place to fill up water flasks.

The fireworks on Friday @ 8 comes out of the lagoon area. We did go watch from the ocean which was fun but the view was probably better from the rooms balcony. If you decide to watch them from the ocean keep in mind it’s the same time the luau let’s out so it’s packed.

There are two Starbucks on the property one is located in Kalia tower the other one is on the hotel side I am not sure the tower but it’s close to the diamond tower. you can use the app to pay but can’t pre-order. Price wise more expensive than a standard Starbucks

Thanks for sharing :)

Early this year (April), the live music playing into the late evening (until 10 or 11pm) from the Tapa Bar far exceeded the level of noise coming from luau. Since you only mentioned the luau noise, I’m assuming they significantly dialed back the noise coming from the Tapa Bar.

Thanks for sharing your instacart experience. :)

Just want to add that there’s also a
  • YouTube video that shows the parking areas as well (link)
  • Detailed Yelp review (link)
Note: The Marina Parking area might change in the future as well (see Vision Report for potential options - link)

From the YouTube video mentioned above.

i did notice the Tapa Bar on the first Saturday night we were there. I would have sworn that it was 1985 and Vince Neil was singing home sweet home, the band was fantastic. I couldn’t hear it from my room so, I didn’t think about mentioning it.

Is it true that there are no grills in the HHV area? Disappointing if true as we were planning to get food and do a good bit of grilling during our 2-week stay.

We'll have a car, but are planning on Walmart for delivery of some things, maybe a CostCo run due to the length of the trip. At least here, Walmart has top quality produce and we don't need a CostCo amount of onions and peppers, for example :)

Cheers.

No grills but there are possibly charcoal grills in the park south of the property or at Ala Moana but never have used them.

Thanks. Certainly a disappointment compared to Waikōloa, but we’ll make it work.

Another reason I like the Big Island better. 😀

Cheers.

There are so many good restaurant choices in Waikiki. You won't miss it.

Likely. But we just don't like to eat out that often...

Cheers.
I believe that in all of the Lagoon Tower apartments, as well as the other timeshare apartments at the HHV(except the Studios) there is a stove. My husband and I used it frequently when staying there. It makes great fish, pork roast, pot roast, tomato sause for pasta etc. for dinners so you don't have to eat out.
