Hilton, Diamond, Embarc....Original Embarc member question

Today is the first time I tired to book with Hilton. Has anyone notice that we lost points from the original points. I had 210 points and this was sold as enough for a 2 bedroom except Christmas and New Year. It has always been true until now. My points did not change with Diamond but with Hilton I lost points. I can no longer book a 2 bedroom except for a week here and there. It takes at least 1500 to 2,000 more with Hilton. Has anyone else notice this with their points?

If you had 210 Embarc original points then you should now have 10500 pts (50x increase). That is my understanding anyways. @cd5 should be able to help with your question.

btw, I am moving your thread to HGVC because most Embarc resorts are being rebranded as HGVC even though they are separate from the rest of HGVC resorts.

10500 isn't enough for a standard 2br in plat season even in the older HGVC resorts, where it takes 11,200. the newer resorts can require more.

Actually, 10,500 IS enough for a standard 2BR in MANY HGVC resorts. It just depends on the season. Gold Season at many resorts is only 8,000pts for a standard 2BR.

Is that not still true specifically @ Embarc properties? The conversation has quickly jumped to discussing HGVC data pts.

If this is at Embarc sites, I know nothing, and 2nd "Little help from cd5". If it is at HGVC sites, I'd point out that HGVC (HGV, I guess) obviously intends to segment the acquisitions by product line, and I'd be highly surprised if they claimed that "buying power" would equilibrate across the acquisitions. The slides they show about the Diamond & BG acquisitions show the opposite intent. The Max umbrella shows no desire to co-mingle them all

Very good points and questions.

Embarc points for booking have not been changed other than the standard changing of points due to holidays such as Easter changing dates. All the "chart" points were multiplied by 50 as were member-owned points so everyone should be able to get exactly what they used to AT EMBARC.
If this member joined HGV Max expecting points to book a 2 bdrm at Hilton to be the same as at Embarc - well, this is not the case.
All member points at Embarc have the same value (there are no Gold, Platinum etc). It is the number of points to reserve at different resorts, for different seasons, that varies (but essentially unchanged from before Hilton takeover).
