Hilton Club vs. HGVC

Ok… so what I gather is that Hilton Club is a club within the HGVC and you have to own club points in order to get the Hilton Club benefits but what if someone is Elite Premiere in HGVC, do they get same perks in Hilton Club where fees are waived etc?

Also does anyone know what the benefit is for club members who pay the optional “all inclusive” dues? What is that all about?

It’s all so confusing to me.

I own a deed at the District in DC and have access to the Owners Lounge there (pretty sure any Elite Members w/o ownership there do not have access).

All Inclusive waives any reservation fee, which allows for a higher flexibility in reservation management.

If you are Elite Premiere in HGVC do you not get the reservation fees waived with Hilton Club? Do the benefits of EP not overlap into Club?

EP doesn't pay any reservation fees for HGVC or HC but they do not get access to the owners lounge. That is only for the owners of the specific property.

I’ll let other explain the intricacies of Elite and Max, as I have neither and no interest in either.

Thank you! This is very helpful. So if I was EP already and added on a Club deed I shouldn’t opt to pay for the inclusive fees correct?

Be careful with the nomenclature because it does get confusing. Ownership into any of the by Hilton Club (bHC) properties gives you access to an All Inclusive booking with no fees. Yes, if you are legacy Elite Premier, you will also pay no booking fees. “Hilton Club” without the “by” or “a” in front of it usually denotes Hilton Club in NYC, which is a separate club within the club available only for those owners to book.

I don't think so. They do the same thing but maybe there is another benefit that I am not aware of. @CalGalTraveler can tell us

EP does more than AI though, I think, such as no fees for booking, saving, converting, or depositing plus unlimited free guest certs, $250 Lyft credit, access to other properties, early booking at some affiliate properties, diamond HH, etc.

HCNY designates Hilton Club NY...HGV has dropped the "by" but some places still have the "a", however, in the investor slides, they have dropped the "a".

EP benefits > bHC AI benefits > Club Benefits. So yes, I would imagine if you already have EP you can drop the extra AI charge with a Hilton Club and avoid double paying for the same benefit.

Not to beat this dead horse any longer but I just happened to notice this on the website while looking at the new HGVClub Legacy webinar series. They leave off both the "by" and the "a".

Hilton breakout The Hilton Club and Hilton Grand Vacation Club in the two (2) page literature. But not the last one (Hilton Vacation Club).. Why?

Not sure exactly what you are asking but HGVC and HC (w/o HGVMax) can book each other, but HVC/DRI (w/o HGVMax) can not book either.

They do, but we seem to have kept it here (and I think that's a good idea) as it does help to clarify more than what they have done....as surprising as that may seem!

Cheers.

This seems backwards - you would think it should be

Hilton Club - upscale
Hilton Vacation Club - more upscale
Hilton Grand Vacation Club - most upscale
You are right, in some aspects the HC properties are not very upscale, the The District is basically just an Embassy Suites. Even the NYC properties are basically hotels compared to "resorts"

Yes. Similarly, I was recently looking at very high quality Hiltons in European city-centers (not staying in them but touristing nearby) as a way to spend money at Hilton to get Amex CC credits (June and July). They don't filter as "resorts" on the web-site, which I understand. No ocean. No ski area. Limited pool.

Has anybody ever received their Amex Hilton credits by spending at a city-center Hilton overseas?

That list doesn't work. I have seen "resorts" not get the credit and ones not on the "resort" list get it. It is just a filter on their website that doesn't necessarily align to the code used by Amex. If you don't get it, use the Amex chat to tell them that you should get it.

Though 'Hotel vs Resort' has nothing to do with being upscale or not but rather the location and size of the property. Certainly the most 'upscale' properties in which I've ever stayed were hotels in European city centers (thankfully I wasn't footing the bill). I even had a butler at the Lanesborough.

And even within HGVC/bHC I can't think of any HGVC resorts at which we've stayed that had a level of service and quality of furnishings that matches W57 or the Quin (I can't speak to the other NYC properties). Much as we love HHV it is 'upscale' only when compared to other, lesser resorts.

I don't know, we have stayed at the Quin and it was ok. I have stayed at several HGVC that were better. Don't get me wrong, I will stay in the Quin again and I was perfectly happy with it but it didn't leave an impression of luxury.... Just urban hotel and conveniently located.

I agree though, there are luxurious hotels like the Waldorf, that aren't resorts.

Surpass, yes. Aspire, no. I can tell you that the DoubleTree by Hilton Quebec Resort is on the resort list (it's off in the countryside next to a golf course).

If you don't mind me asking...where? We're always on the lookout for nice HGVCs, but have only ever been to HHV, South Beach, Orlando, and NYC. Though we do have an upcoming ressie at Liberty Place we are looking forward to.

Liberty Place is nice, one of our favorites is the Ocean Oak Ocean front rooms and the property,

Orlando is ok but we have stayed at Tuscany Village many times over the years but have gotten to the point of avoiding Orlando, South Beach is ok. I have stayed in a nice room at Elara, and even though the facility is older, we really liked the Bay Club Villas... Now, they aren't "luxurious" but very large and a huge lanai.

I hear Valdoro is nice and will try Cabo Azul in June ... But we also cashed in two FNCs to stay at the Waldorf there and I hear it is very nice.

Oops...I forgot Waikoloa. We also very much like the Bay Club's enormous villas. Kingsland was also nice (we stayed there on one trip when we needed a 3BR).

And thank you for the recommendations.
