Hilton CC bonus points with HGVC transactions

I just signed up for the Hilton Ascend credit card that offers 12x points for Hilton charges. Which HGVC transactions qualify for the bonus points? Such as MF, club dues, booking fees, RCI fees, etc. Thanks for any advice.

I know that I have received the 12x for MF & club dues specifically. I haven't used the card for RCI fees nor booking fees.

I have received 12X points for ALL HILTON charges. That includes MF, club dues, booking fees, point saving fees, Open Season Reservations, Hilton hotel rooms, charges to the room at a Hilton or HGVC resorts. I don't know about RCI fees since I don't know if you are using your HGVC points for a booking whether that is considered an HGVC fee or an RCI fee.

I just got the Aspire card and canceled the Ascend card they sent me. I then charged my MF fees for two different HGVC contracts/rooms. It hasn't cycled yet so I don't know what points I'll get, but I'm looking for 29pts/$1 between the card points and the diamond status points. That would be $116,000 points for my MF fees. Definitely would take some of the edge off $4000 in MF fees for the two contracts.

My Hilton Reserve Visa was just transferred to AMEX. I paid my maintenance fees in December and did not get the 10x points. I called in December to get them and was told that because HGVC is now a separate company from Hilton that the expenditure for maintenance fees does not qualify for the 10X points. Let me know if anyone gets a different result.

I would assume you would get the 14X points for the Aspire Card just like I get the 12X points for using the Ascend card. However, while I am Diamond I am Gold and I don't get any bonus points for paying maintenance fees. I do get those Gold bonus points for Hotel expenditures when I stay at a Hilton Hotel.

I don't know what a Hilton Reserve Visa or the subsequent transfer to AMEX is. However, I did pay my HGVC Maintenance using my Hilton Amex in December and received 12X points.

I received the 12x points when I paid my MarBrisa maintenance fees even though the charge was not billed on the card as “HGVC”, but MarBrisa HOA. I was billed and I paid it through the HGVC website. I believe I also received them for my Bay Club unit paid the same way so maybe that’s is the key (did not get the bonus for my Craigendarroch unit that was paid though a different site, just the regular points for purchases).

next year try calling Craigendarroch and having them put the maint fees through manually. That way it comes up as a charge from HGVC. That's what I did. Not for the points but just because they were new purchases and I didn't have a link to the website yet.

Unfortunately I don't think I can get the CC as I'm Canadian. It kind of sucks because I could definitely use it's full value.

Based on using the Hilton Surpass for a couple years as a Diamond, you will not get the Diamond bonus. Unless something changed with this new version, but I doubt it.

Per the card member contract, diamond bonus points are not given for credit card bonus points. You will get 14 points per dollar.but do not get the diamond bonus on those points from the amex.

I can understand your being disappointed in only getting credit card charge bonus points but not getting hotel charge bonus points for paying your maintenance fees. The credit card charge is considered a Hilton family charge (although it may not be forever since HGVC is now a separate company). However, you are clearly NOT booking or staying at a Hilton Hotel making charges to your room which would result in diamond status bonus points. You also don't get diamond status bonus points for charges to your room when you stay at an HGVC resort, but you will get 14X points for credit card charges to your room which is great. It seems that the distinction is that the Hilton Honors Diamond Status is strictly HOTEL oriented. The Hilton Honors Credit Card covers the entire HILTON FAMILY of Accommodations which includes HGVC.

No, I don't believe so. All points go to your Hilton account.

Sort of, as CSOJD mentioned the points go to your Hilton account. You can exchange Hilton Honors points for miles with many airlines. In general that is not a good value. If your after FF air miles, i would suggest a credit card co-branded with your prefered airline, or something like the Chase Sapphire that offers a better exchange rate.
