Usually we eat at the middling/chain restaurants near the Grande Vista as well at the prime rib nights at the golf club. Looking for something fancier for one night not too far away. I’m old and driving at night is not my favorite thing.

We ate at A Land Remembered twice, (Rosen Center/Shingle Creek) we had the Chateaubriand for two (that was $125). We had a couple of drinks each, had a restaurant.com coupon for $75 off $150, and with tip I think we paid about another $150 or so.

Not sure if that is too fancy; and I suspect there is even MORE fancy---that's the highest we have done.

We prefer the newly opened Del Frisco's to Capital Grill. Both offer steaks and seafood and wonderful service. Capital Grill is a more traditional steakhouse and seems a bit stodgier and more business-oriented than Del Fricsco's, which is more modern. Both are on International Dr. a couple miles north of GV. Farther away from GV there is a Flemings, which is also quite good.

One of our new favorites is Cooper's Hawk Winery. It's just off International Drive near Universal. It's always crowded so reservations are a good idea, and the food and wine are excellent. It's not as upscale as the 3 steakhouses mentioned above, nor is it as expensive, but it's certainly above the "middling/chain restaurants". And yes, I realize all 4 restaurants I suggested are in fact, chain restaurants.
