Anyone know the latest? I’m an owner in Hiawatha West and I want to get rid of it. Since they went in solvent, I thought I was off the hook.
However, I just got a letter saying that they are reopening. I really have lost faith and interest in the Timeshare at this point.
I already have contacted lemon juice who is supposed to be handling the insolvency and I told them I want to deed back the property. They are supposed to be sending me the documents, but I’m just reaching out to see if anybody knows anything more because I’m a little suspicious about the whole thing.
I thought that I might even be able to get a small check from the company and return for relinquishing the deed, but I was told that I actually have to pay at least $250 to get rid of it and then a bunch of maintenance fees besides.
It doesn’t seem right, but I don’t trust just walking away from the whole thing because I think there might be some legal repercussions if I were to do that.
If anybody has any thoughts, suggestions or new information concerning this situation, please pass it on. I will appreciate it.

Fully paid off? Only owing on maintenance/taxes?
I’m pretty sure I’m all paid up to the point until I received the word that they went bankrupt. I stopped paying then.
I’ll need to check my records to find the exact dates of payment.
For now, let’s assume I have paid my maintenance fees as required.
In that case, do you have any insights other than what lemonjuice has already advised owners like me? Thanks.

I'm not sure if it will make a difference but this should have been posted in the Central Section which includes TN. Without knowing all the facts it's difficult to give even an educated guess on what to do. How long ago did this happen. Did you get refused usage that you paid for? I'd talk to a lawyer to get a feel of where you stand. Maybe you could accuse them of breaking the contract?

Ok ty I”ll post on the Central Section. I would talk to a lawyer but I want to see if other unit owners have other thoughts first.
