Hi, anyone know why the HGVC Whistler location does not show up on the Hilton Grand Vacations website as an option to book with points? I just drove by the location and it looks open - last year it said coming soon and I was all excited about the possibility of using our points here. Also, you could book with cash on the Hilton website now, so is this resort not really part of HGVC?
 
Maybe it's in MAX?
 
It is Embarc and only renamed HGVC for marketing purposes. HGVC Legacy owners don't have access

I'm pretty sure it's part of the Embarc collection from the Diamond acquisition. It might come along with time into Max.

I don't think so. I think they removed all the HVC and Embarc.... They want us joining Max to have access

It's Resort ID 6414 in RCI, but I haven't seen availability.

It has been available for years in Interval, there is current availability - code BLK.
 
It's HGVC in name only - no access for HGVC owners. It trades via Interval and there have been a lot of bulk deposits. Beware the daily resort fee - this is relatively new, after renaming from Embarc. Resort itself is nice, but a bit of a walk (5 minutes) to Blackcomb base, or a bus to Whistler base.

In which version of RCI? I don't see it in the HGVC version.

Interesting. I looked up whistler and it wasn't listed but others were. Some HVC are still listed also but no availability. The regular RCI has some properties that the HGV version doesn't.

Legacy HGVC is still the same as it always was.
The more things change, the more they remain the same.

Embarc was in RCI once upon a time, but now it's in Interval and has been for over 20 years.
Access for anyone outside of II, SFX Resorts or DEX (exchange companies Embarc members use) will be in HGV Max - but at a certain disadvantage since Max first requires Embarc members to exchange into it and also reservations can only be made 6 months from checkout date. Since the exchanges are "points" not fixed weeks, and prime times will already have been booked by Embarc members, whatever is left will likely be off peak.
Hilton owners wanting to do direct exchanges with Embarc members can always try on the Facebook group set up for that (Embarc-Hilton Exchange Group). There are a large number of Embarc members in that group who interested in going to Hilton properties & who could make some time available to someone who has something to offer in exchange.
