Aloha, my 29 year-old niece has asked me to help her book accommodations using my timeshare points for July on Oahu for a wedding at the Moana Surfrider. I did a quick search and found availability at quite a few of the HGVCs. I have never stayed at any of them. Looks like HHV is 1.5ish miles from the wedding venue, and there is a one bedroom (1BR) for her dates for 3840 points. What other fees will she need to pay to the resort directly I book her a stay there? There seems to be decent availability for more points at some of the other HGVCs too. Hokulani 1BP for 4960, Grand Waikikian 1BP or 1DP for 7440, and Grand Islander 1BR or 1DR for 5760. Since I don't know anything about these properties, I would appreciate any advice and details!

Parking at HHV looks to be $55/day. I will recommend that they don't rent a car, I think.

Just the daily occupancy tax (less than $20/day) and parking fees. There’s a $250 deposit required as well.

All HHV resorts on Oahu are fine. It really depends on your preference/priorities.
- closest to Moana Surfrider then Hokulani
- beachfront property then one of the towers at the Hilton Hawaiian Village
- great ocean view then higher point level rooms at the Hilton Hawaiian Village
- newest accommodations then Grand Islander tower at Hilton Hawaiian Village
- in room washer and dryer then Grand Waikikian or Grand Islander at the Hilton Hawaiian Village
- lowest point requirements then Kalia, Lagoon and Hokulani
- sensitivity to city noise (best sound proofing) then Kalia, Grand Waikikian or Grand Islander at the Hilton Hawaiian Village

Thanks, @alwysonvac! I think that my niece is looking at budget accommodations (apparently the Moana Surfrider is $2700 for 5 nights!), so she may decide that the lowest points reservation wins. I will refer her to these videos so that she can know what to expect if she wants to use more points. In the meantime, I booked the last Lagoon Tower option to hold it for her.

Corrected video link for Grand Waikikian ;)
