HGVC conversion to HH points

Hi helpful Tuggers...
I'm new to HGVC (in process of purchasing-yea!).
When I convert HGVC Club points to HH (HiltonHonors) points, will they be added as HH 'base' points or 'bonus points'?....In otherwords, will I qualify the points for upgrade to "Gold" from Silver (assuming I transfer enough points)?

Much appreciated again, for this and all of your help from my very 1st timeshare, to now my 3rd!!!.. Anna ...(Sir Newf...that's my dog)...

Points transferred from HGVC don't count toward status in the hotel program.

Hi Steve,
A few months ago Hilton changed their policy to allow all HHonors bookings to count toward Elite status. When doing nightly bookings using timeshare points, it is a 20 for 1 conversion, unless you book 6 nights using one of the going global awards in which case it is 23 for 1.

When did the conversion change?

I've always booked the global certificates when I've converted to hotel points because it's a better value. I don't recall the 20:1 conversion rate ever being discussed when I purchased or in the newsletters. Has it always been 20:1 for less than 6 nights or is this a recent change I overlooked?

It changed about a year ago 20:1 for current year reservations of fewer than 6 nights.

converting to HHonors

I always convert my entire villa and I get 23 HHonor points / HGVC. Done before the end of the year, but if only convert part of your villa to HHonor points you get the 20/1 ratio. Seth Nocks is the best with Hilton. He is an excellant broker and I would highly recommend buying from him.
