Anyone have any information on the Royal Lahaina Resort in Maui being available to HGV owners? In the HGVMax app the resort is one of 4 resorts that populate for Maui however I get an error message when I click on it for more information. It also isn't showing on the website. I called about it and the agent I spoke to had no knowledge of it. I'm planning a trip in July and actually would like to stay there if it's an option. Any info is appreciated.

Sorry I don't have access to MAX, only legacy HGV and no sign of the Royal Lahaina resort. As far as I know that is a hotel, not a timeshare and its not affiliated with Hilton so seems odd that it would be an option.

I think you mean the Ka'anapali Vacation Club. I'm not Max but I don't think that the Royal Lahaina is a HVC property, but the Ka'anapali is.

I've noticed on DEX that there are artifacts of other resorts similar to RCI which has a number of ghost listings with no availability. Someone must have traded once. Given the Aston is also in your photo I would guess that Royal Lahaina is one of these ghost listings so would not count on availability.

I notice these ghost listings on the app don’t appear on the browser website, at least for me. The Royal Lahaina showed up on my app the last time I checked , but no availability of course.

There is the possibility that it is a hotel that has a agreement with a timeshare company to allow owners to book using some points. However, I have seen this on Oahu at some of the hotels but the exchange fee is exorbitant and not worth doing. For instance to stay at the Turtle Bay Resort for 3 nights would be 50,000 RCI points and $279/night for a total of $837. Of course they would only have these offers during a low season when no events were being held so they had lots of vacant room.

Thanks for the insight. I just find it odd that it would show up, and again it is only on my app and not on a traditional browser.

Odd? IT = odd? today's IT systems are full of thousands of "What the heck?s".
I dealt with one yesterday & today on a brokerage site. Stupid little thing. I was on the phone with them yesterday about something else. I reminded them that the year old solution of "just refresh the page a bunch of times til it takes" is a yr old and still stupid. The response was "It is probably your browser". I refrained from replying "BS. It is your crappy IT people. They already admitted this is their problem a YEAR ago."
IT odd? LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

as CalGal said" "artifact". Artifact of what? as tamara said: "a hotel that has OR HAD an agreement", but it is probably dormant.
There is a bit somewhere that activates the agreement and pulls inventory. There is some 4 quadrants of the app vs the browser checking the bit or not.
Royal Lahaina is nice, but doubtful that RL would give rooms to a TS site at a reasonable price.

I just googled this, and Gemini says Royal Lahaina is part of Diamond/II/RCI exchanges. So maybe they are part of the timeshare exchange markets, or perhaps they are technically still part, but not making any inventory available.

Last February we drove by there since we had stayed at Ka'Anapali Beach Club when it was an exchange back in 2008. If I remember correctly, both resorts were in the same area and under construction. They were both advertised by a sign outside as being a Hilton Vacation Club resort. It is interesting that there is no availability at either resort at this time. I wonder of their openings were delayed. It would be best for you to call HGVC.
