HGV Max Reservation Window Changes to 7 Months July 2025

So other than stays less than 7 days is there any advantage to Max over DeX?
DEX US points isn't just for weeks. It is like HGVC where you can choose the length. DEX US Weeks and DEX EU are weekly exchanges. DEX is much better than Max. You get more properties and longer booking windows.

What about availability? I have The Bay Club 2BR Platinum which has a HOA agreement with DeX. I assume it would be weeks, anyone know?

availability is very good but I will let others respond to how BC exchanges....weeks or points. I suspect weeks but others can clarify.

Edit:
This is what I get from AI: Units are deposited into HGVC Max through a structured process that integrates inventory from Hilton Grand Vacations and Diamond Resorts. The timing and method of deposits depend on factors such as ownership exchanges, availability, and reservation demand.

We see "reservation demand" predictions in RCI where Hilton has to make deposits based on members using points in RCI. These deposits are predictive based on where Hilton thinks demand will be. I suspect it may be the same with Max. Hilton may even be using AI now to make demand predictions based on historical usage and vacancies.

I guess the question is, will the be pushing inventory into Max at the expense of HGVC owners?

If I own HGVC with Max

I’m still confused by the terminology. Please explain what HGVC Max is. Is this a term used by HGV?

There is HGVClub with HGV Max, The Club with HGV Max, and Extraordinary Escapes with HGV Max (Embarc)

Owners who have bought retail within the last few years and now can book in the other properties, within the 6 month...soon to be 7 month HGV Max reservation window

Yes, it is an exchange program to allow a member to exchange into one of the other clubs. For example, a HGVC member could exchange into HVC/DRI.

Sorry for the confusion. If you have HGVC retail and want Max I think you can still get it for $7k. Might be wrong. If you are a resale buyer you have to make a new purchase. I believe this new purchase can be either HGVC or HGV (formerly Diamond). HGVC is Hilton Grand Vacations, more upscale. HGV are Diamond locations rebranded to Hilton standards, but somewhat less upscale than HGVC.

They advertised that, but as far as I know, never offered it. They will offer you a small point deed to get in though...with terrible MF/pt and expensive for what it is. They tried to get us to trade in our resale for retail and pay them $7k to align to that offer...after I had showed them that statement by HGV. I would have paid them to lose points....but be in Max...nope.

Ok. So there ISN’T a “HGVC Max”. Thats what I thought but it still gets confusing when people use the different acronyms. Thanks @HuskerATL

that is just a lazy way of writing HGVClub with HGV Max....

BG owners can make Resies at 11 months.
They can reserve their Priority Use Period at 13 months.
Just like any system, high demand reservations go fast.
But also like any system, people cancel so you never know what’s out there unless you look.
I understand you are talking about Bluegreen owners, but as an owner at a former DRI (now HVC) property I can book 14 months out at my home collection. However, a lot of other people can as well for the prime periods and they are booking long weekends. I used to be able to book a month at a time as it was 14 months from check-in date. Now it is 14 months from check-out date thanks to Hilton and that means I only have a 13 mo booking window, or I have to grab a piece at a time. That would be OK, but my home resort has about 10 different categories of rooms just for the 1BR, so I end up having to move from a pool view, to a deluxe pool view, back to a pool view, to an ocean view, etc. Painful. When I see complaints from the HGV owners about what is happening because of these acquisitions, I feel like they don't understand what happened to the rest of us. Yes, I own at W 57th St as well, but for that ownership I have seen essentially no change when I book a year in advance.

DEX is basically an exchange system and it depends on what people put into the exchange, and what is acquired by the company to put into the exchange. The reciprocal agreements they have with companies like Vidanta mean fresh meat for both sales organizations. (Vidanta seems to come and go, but I think it is still in DEX.)

We reserve at 9 months in almost all cases, so this will not impact us. But it is a devaluation for those of us not buying the FOMO of Max or Elite.

Cheers.

I am an HGV weeks and The Club owner AND also own HGVC. Except for one retail HGV purchase, the other 4 weeks are reaale. At my stay last month at Riviera Beach and Resort they offered me a flat rate $7k entry to Max. Big NO THANKS.

Interesting, you are the first person that I have heard of that they have offered a cash entry with no purchase or trade in.

When Max was first rolled out, there was a "requirement" to spend $7k to buy more points or buy "something" on the DRI side. You could think of it as a $7k buy-in, but you actually got some points in addition.

In the guide when Max first started and I think it is still there, it mentions a cash buy in of $7k. They had that from the start but I hadn't heard of anyone actually getting that offer... Just cash no points/deed. Cindyc is the first that I have heard of to just buy in. We have gotten $7k trade in offer... But turned it down
