Email out with some updates, including the change to the Max reservation window. There’s also supposed to be access to the first phase of the Bluegreen resorts by July 31st. Subject to availability, of course.

@Eric B Thanks for sharing. We are not Max so didn't get the newsletter. Can you share the text? I am assuming that is for Club resort windows and doesn't affect bHC resort priority periods.

Ugh a further devaluation of HGVC Legacy and Elite. Only 2 months priority to book club using HGVC deed associated points.

And Legacy Elites who spent 10s of thousands or more can (even via affiliates) can forget about upgrades because there is no availability. When we visited Lagoon Tower a long-time front desk rep told me that since they added MAX Lagoon has gone from 95% occupancy with better availability in spring and fall to 98% all the time - Solidly booked. All the HGV MAX (former DRI owners) who bought in with $10k or less now want to stay at HGVC so this puts pressure on our properties and significantly reduces the odds of an upgrade. Adding Bluegreen will make this worse.

HGV Max News, Resort Rebranding And More!

Since our initial launch of HGV Max sales in 2022, the team at Hilton Grand Vacations has been working diligently behind the scenes to enhance your experience. We’ve been focusing on expanding resort access to more exciting destinations, unifying our travel services options and — last but certainly not least — preparing for the rebranding of our Bluegreen properties.

That’s why I’m excited to share this update with our HGV Max Members — so you can make the most of your vacation membership with HGV.

Expanded Resort Options & Travel Benefits

First, I’m thrilled to announce that all HGV Max Members will soon gain access to an expanded selection of resorts ahead of schedule! By the end of July, you’ll be able to enjoy the first phase of resort offerings, where you can use your points at Bluegreen-branded properties.

At the same time, we’re going to make it even easier to plan your vacations by extending the HGV Max Reservation Window from six to seven months1 before check-out. And this is just the beginning — more properties will be added to the expanded portfolio throughout the rest of 2025 and into next year.

Resort Rebranding News

Exciting progress also continues in our multi-year property rebranding initiative. So far, over 40 former Diamond and Embarc resorts have successfully transitioned to the Hilton Vacation Club and Hilton Grand Vacations Club brands — and more resorts are scheduled to be rebranded in the years to come.

This summer, in fact, we’re beginning rebranding efforts at select Bluegreen properties, and more are planned for 2026 and beyond under the HGV family of brands. If you’re an Owner at a resort undergoing rebranding, you’ll receive advance notice from HGV. Your ownership rights, reservation process and contract will remain unchanged — only the name and branding will evolve.

New HGV Max Videos

Finally, I’m happy to share that we’re working on new videos designed to help HGV Max Members make the most of their benefits. The videos will be available on the unified Member website and will highlight the key advantages of your membership by tier.

The unified Member website, launched in 2024, brought Members of Extraordinary Escapes, HGVClub and The Club together under a single login. Ongoing enhancements have included the addition of French, Japanese and Korean language options, as well as beta testing of the HGV MyExplorer+ Recommendations engine.

Announcements about access to the expanded HGV resort portfolio and the new videos will be shared on your Member website and Club Traveler newsletter as soon as they’re available. To explore HGV Max and your tier-specific benefits, visit our dedicated HGV Max page.

The team at HGV is thrilled about what’s ahead and can’t wait to bring you even more ways to vacation. The future of HGV Max is bright, and your next unforgettable vacation is just around the corner!

Best wishes,
Gordon Gurnik
Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer

This would mean that Lagoon Tower owners are using HGV Max to book out to Diamond properties at 6 months. Those people booking Lagoon Tower in HGV Max can only reserve when those Lagoon Tower owners are booking out through Max. Though it is also possible that HGVC is seeding Max with any unsold or unreserved inventory they control. Max isn't like the Club where anything unreserved just becomes available for booking like it does at 9 months in HGVC.

Wonder how easy to book ‘Bluegreen’ resorts.
BG owners can make Resies at 11 months.
They can reserve their Priority Use Period at 13 months.
Just like any system, high demand reservations go fast.
But also like any system, people cancel so you never know what’s out there unless you look.

Do we know this to be a fact because it's starting to sound like Max members are seeing what legacy club members see at (now) 7 months, although legacy members still have a 2 month advantage. Is it documented in the Max rules? Max is not DEX.

I've always been able to get into Lagoon by walking at 9-1/2 months, so I'd take what the desk rep said with a grain of salt.. I think Lagoon has always been heavily favored by legacy members due to the lower point cost compared to both of the newer towers. Gold season, spring and fall has always been a bargain at HHV.

@sangbum beat me to it. In the paragraph on the reservation windows, the 1 in "seven months1" is actually a to indicate the presence of a footnote that reads "1 Booking windows vary for select resorts; inventory is subject to availability." I would take that to indicate that booking into a bHC resort with a different window (i.e., NYC or DC area bHC resorts) will not open at 7 months but instead will be tied to when the club reservation windows for those resorts open. The second part of the footnote on inventory being subject to availability reflects the exchange character of Max - availability will be based on owners in one system using Max, the amount of developer ownership, and the predictions of demand by the exchange operator.

I do agree that there will be an effect on upgrade and short-term availability. I'm not all that surprised at it, though, and understand the motivation for HGV. After all, the folks using HVC points rather than HGVC points to book are paying a lot more MFs for those points than most Tuggers do. My cost per point with HVC Cabo Azul is 15.42 cents per point and I understand that is the least expensive ownership in HVC. My average cost per point for my bHC ownerships is 13.76 cents per point because I made the choice to purchase those units where I want to stay and have the greater availability (and lounge access). I tend to book units I'd be happy to stay in without an upgrade, leaving room for an upgrade, unless I'm booking one of the penthouse units. If someone wants to come in and book the larger units while paying double what I'm paying, I'm okay with it.

But like DEX, Max is also an exchnage program. Does HGV have a set of exchange procedures or the legal documents that cover all the terms and conditions of Max? We would really have to look at those to verify the back end function of Max. Are members agreeing to automatically deposit their units into Max if they haven't reserved them by 7 (formerly 6) months?

That is the case for HVC availability - I see much more availability at Cabo Azul within 6 months using my HVC points than I do using my HGVC/bHC points. My HVC ownership is resale, but shows me availability in my collections (Cabo Azul and Monarch Grand). Someone owning on HVC having Max from that side would have to comment on it going the other way.

Nope.

I suspect that Embarc will be excluded from the "7 months" because the current "6 months from check OUT" rule in Max was because our members guidelines only allow members to reserve 5 nights or less at 6 months from check IN.
I'll be verifying this info at our next BOD meeting.

Yes, I’d like to see their legacy HGVC availability vs ours.

We have done that in the past. The inventory isn't the same. There is much less inventory in Max, which indicates that it is truly an exchange program similar to RCI.

Is that the question you were asking or something else?

Yes that’s what I was wondering.

Hoping for a great HVC MAX grand opining sometime soon after July 31st to Oct 31st 2025 for us Bluegreen owners.
