HGV Loan payment -- Do you get the 20x for Diamond in addition to the 14x for using Aspire card

I paid off my HGV loan with my Aspire card. I got the 14x points. But I am wondering if I can expect the 20x as a Diamond member. I was told both by HGV and AMEX that I would -- but I tend to doubt it.

Has anyone had this experience ? ... if you have a Hilton stay and are Diamond, you get 10x plus double for most locations -- arriving at 20x. Just wondering if paying for HGV counts.

You don't get any points other than from the credit card transaction. It isn't a stay so doesn't count as one. It is a Hilton spend.

No, I don't see how you could even expect that since you didn't stay anywhere for a loan payment.

It should just be the 14x points. Only 'stays' qualify for 14x plus any Diamond bonuses.
