I have made a reservation for a rental car using the codes from the certificate. The certificate is in my name but the car is in my mother's name.

Does Hertz actually ask for the certificates at the time of rental?

Yes, they have always asked for the cert with us and matched the names with the person actually renting. You might try one of two things ... you might change the reservation to your name or call Marriott and they will reissue the cert in your mother's name for a fee (usually $20)

Hertz Certificate

jimf41: I acquiesce!!!

The Hertz presentation looks great BUT it would be better if Marriott offered something of value.

Better values available

I agree regarding the value of the Hertz certificate...there's not much there. Have ALWAYS found much better deals with other companies. My certificates have just gone in the trash. There was a time when II offered good deals on cars, but haven't found much there recently. Now I just check a variety of sites, over a period of time. Offers are constantly changing!
