Here we go again: red tide in Sarasota area

We once experience this red algae problem. It can spoil your vacation especially if you enjoy walking alone the beach shorelines in the morning and evening. IMH0
 
All the sewage and Hurricane Ian debris flowed into the Gulf. My neighbor has been here for two weeks and hitting the beaches. Some along the Gulf have better days than others. Siesta Key and Lido are the worse today. And Turtle Beach at the south end of Siesta Key will start trucking in dump trucks full of sand to replenish their beach. That will really mess up traffic.
 
I am in Englewood and the beach had signs on it today. But I did not smell it. My folks lived here and the last few years everytime I come down there has been red tide.
 
How long does red tide usually last?
 
I do not see any Red Tide in Marco Island today
 
We're in Bradenton Beach right now and there's no red tide here. However they told us there was red tide in Tampa last weekend.
 
And it will continue indefinitely, until FL government issues regulations to clean up the Lake Okeechobee fertilizer pollution.

Scientific studies have now confirmed (what was widely known by many residents) that Excessive amounts of Phosphorous and Nitrogen from fertilizers used by farmers/ranchers are released into Lake Okeechobee (up to 16x the recommended safe amount), which then runs downstream out to the Gulf to exacerbate red tide algae blooms.
