help with exchange 2023 vistana week expires 12/31/25

I need guidance on what to do with my 2023 sheraton vistana resort expires on 12/31/2025. I went on too many cruises this year so didn’t do much timeshare exchange. I though I need to book a week by 12/31/2025 then buy eplus for 1 year extension. when i try to do the exchange today, I found out I need to check out by 12/31/2025. so I am within the 59 day of any timeshare checking if i book today. I found out I need to book 1 week ago to have unrestricted eplus.

I call interval and ask for option. I ask whether i can exchange for a week more than 30 days out then cancel it to get replacement week. Agent told me I have a supplemental vistana week so if I cancel, I will lose the week altogether.

Is this correct? what other option do i have? if i pay for a year extension, isnt I limit to flex exchange with checkin < than 30 days? Help

What you want to do is deposit the unit. Don't try and exchange. If you deposit it, by 12/31, then you have until 12/31/2027 to use it. You should be able to deposit it right from the Vistana website.

Oh sorry. I should have read more carefully. Yes, then you don't have many options now. You would want to exchange for something more than 30 days out. This would keep your week outside Flexchange. You can then add Eplus which will give you three retrades through December 2026. No need to cancel and take a cancellation replacement. If you can't use it by then, you can later cancel and take the cancellation replacement week more than 30 days from checkin and you will have another deposit that would be good through around November 2027. You can then trade with that and add Eplus again if you wanted. I don't know if your week is enrolled in Abound, if not then additional exchange fees would apply.

Now, I don't know what Supplemental means here and why you would have that. Did you previously cancel an exchange with it? That may change some of the above option, but you should still be able to exchnage for something in December (more than 30 days) and add Eplus.

i didn’t cancel week. I was told that vistana deposits a week for me and agent says that is a supplemental week so can’t cancel once exchange. Not sure what they mean. II agent keep saying that is not II problem.

so if i exchange for as late a week possible like with checkin 12/21, buy eplus then I can do eplus exchange till 12/21? i though i will be limited in eplus change since checkin of 12/21 is less than 60 days from now?

Try exchanging in the II app to see if it allows you to exchange further out than 30 or 60 days.

II flexchange window is now 30 days. So forget about 60 day stuff. If you make an exchange ouside of Flexchange (30 days) you can then add Eplus and have unrestricted retrades through December 2026.

Some people have noticed that you can exchange beyond the expiration date through the app. Though I think those experiences are only with Eplus retrades. Not sure it will work with a regular exchange.

so made an exchange for 12/21/25 checkin and bought eplus. but on website and on app, it only allow me to exchange till 2/18/26, 59 days after first checkin date of 12/21/25.

Shoot. It seems when adding Eplus that it ties back to the old 59 day flexchange rule. That makes your other retrades limited to 59 days beyond the current checkin date. As previously noted, you can likely retrade further out by using the app.

You can probably cancel the exchange completely inside the 24 hour rule and rethink the plan.
