Hello,

I'm new to TUG and looking for advice. We have had a timeshare with Hilton Elara since 2011. It is completely paid off. I have been trying for the past few years to call and have sent mail to Hilton to inquire about them taking the timeshare back and letting us out of it. I have sent registered mail so I know that it is being received. I never get a response. When I call and try to talk to someone about it, they always send me to voice mail and I never hear back. I'm beyond frustrated at this point. I'm looking for advice on the best way to get out of this? I don't trust any of the companies that say they can do it for you for a fee.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What type of unit do you own? Many of the HGVC do hold some value (not even close to what you paid for it, though). If it isn't a good enough deed to sell, my guess is you can give it away here on TUG.

Why waste your time with giving it back ?

You can place an ad on TUG on the Free Timeshare Giveaway and someone here will eagerly take it from you, and you're done with it.....

.

Hilton doesn't have a deed back program. If it is something they want they may offer to take it back or may even pay you a small amount for it. If they don't want it, they will not offer any deed back. As mentioned, tug has a giveaway section that you can try. You will need to know exactly what you own and the MF's and the transfer fee.

Hold that thought. You are absolutely right. You have been given great advice about how to give it away here on TUG. Link to correct forum:

There are how-to threads pinned to the top of that forum.

Giving away a fully paid off Hilton TS is easy and there are a lot of people who will take it off your hands at no cost to you.

Good Luck

Thank you all for your input on this. I appreciate it very much.

@Brad17 Elara is not all Hilton. Is this a Hilton Deed or a Westgate deed? Does it have Hilton Points associated with it (Hilton)? If Westgate perhaps that is why Hilton is not responding because they view it as a Westgate issue.

Hello,

Thank you for your response. The only name on any of the deed paperwork is Hilton Resort Properties or HGVC. I don't see any mention of Westgate.
