Help - Grand Desert

Went to a presentation Sunday with my mom. She already owned points in CWA. Salesperson said if she bought points deeded at the Grand Desert (CWP?) all her points would now be usable in a new program with cheaper redemption amounts—example, he states weeks for most places would now only cost 7,500 points. I can’t find anything online really supporting this.
Initially he offered $70k to convert all her CWA points to seeded points. Then he said there had been a special offer she missed during COVID to do this conversion and they could offer her to convert all points to the 7,500/week type for just $38,000. Then when she turned that down he said for $16,800 she could just buy 64,000 deeded point at the Grand Desert and then her 240,000 points would move to the new 7,500/week rate too. Is there such a thing as different types of points, where a week will only cost 7,500? Current redemptions for this week at Grand Desert was something like 78,000 points. Please help.

Basically, was there an old program vs a new program? They said the new program is due to them changing parent companies, and the new program has a way better redemption rate for how many points a day of staying somewhere costs.

He said it’s through a new thing called TravelUp (the cheaper redemption thing).

Don’t do it! If it doesn’t make sense it is not true. My understanding of TravelUp is it is an addition to what you have not a replacement. There are probably more experienced members out there that know more about it

If you own at a resort that gives you an RCI points account occasionally within a month of the check in date there are 7500 point weeks. There's a $269 exchange fee if you're lucky enough to find a 7500 point week you can and would want to use.

However 7500 Wyndham points isn't enough to get you a week night at most resorts unless you're a platinum or Founders VIP owner booking at 60 days or less.

There's no new program and Travel Up doesn't offer any better discounts than you can get through many other websites for free.
