Welk Audition 300k Points holder
Hello, We purchased the Welk "Audition" package which is the try before you buy sort of thing. It was 300,000 points to use within 18 months. We purchased this in Dec. 2016. He was very pushy and after 5 hours we finally gave in because we didn't think we were going to get out of there! I sound weak in the knees, but I have ever experienced this before! We also received our "free trip" to Disneyland, (only to find out a week later there are multiple blackout dates, taxes to be paid on the trip, and still haven't been able to book the darn trip due to the blackout dates.) Anyway, total cost of the package was $3300, and we have paid about $1200 so far. Dear Hubby is furious with Welk as he has found out we cant use our points with their "hotel experiences" part of their site, something we did not find out until last week. We had planned on using our points for a nice hotel through there "Welk Experiences"(use your points for hotel bookings), not at their resort, but have found out fine print dictates we can only use our points at the 5 resorts, something the salesman did not point out! Salesman was very adamant saying we can purchase the Welk resort, and roll the audition into a full timeshare, and we felt we were really duped in this whole thing. Now, 9 months later I see we only had 7 days to rescind! Is there anything we can do to get out of this? We would rather cancel the contract, even if it means losing the $1200, and not having to pay the additional $2000. Preferably getting all our money back is ideal as well. Can anyone give us advice? Thank you in advance- Scorned newbie

You can default, suffer the collections calls and take a hit to your credit rating.
And if the they sue you, you can stop that with Bankruptcy.
Or... Find a way to use what you got, even if it's a lemon.

Unfortunately you are way past the rescission date and therefore you are left with a legal and binding contract. As mentioned above you can default but that has consequences.

There are many people here who not only spent thousands more than you but also have annual maintenance fees, something you don't have to worry about.

Instead of looking at the negatives why not book a vacation with those points sometime in the next year? The resorts are nice and you and your family will hopefully have a memorable time. If you are required to attend another presentation as part of the trial package just practice saying "no, no, no".
