I would like to take Amtrak to Flagstaff from Los Angeles, but the arrival time is 4:30 in the morning. Budget car rental, only a block away, is not opened till 7:00 a.m. Can anyone suggest a safe indoor establishment such as a diner or coffee house to wait till then? Thanks.

I went to www.google.com/maps (search: Flagstaff Amtrack) to ckeck out the environs. There do not appear to be any 24-hour diners in the vicinity, but I did find these that opened at 6:00AM:
Macy's European Coffeehouse & Bakery at 14 S. Beaver Street [macyscoffee.net].
Downtown Diner at 7 Aspen Street.

You could ask nearby Hotel Monte Vista (corner of Aspen & San Francisco) if they'd let you sit in their lobby.

Thanks, Talent312 & Beaglemom3. The police had given me the wrong information the night before about the station being closed in the early hours. The visitor center just confirmed the station is opened at 3:15 a.m. We will wait in the station till 6 to have breakfast then to pick up our rental car. Anybody knows where I could get coupon code for Amtrak? The best I have so far is the AAA membership I have. Thanks again for your help!
