Just curious if anyone has been to the "Owners Update" recently. I have no intention of buying and don't want to be pressured by the sales people. After all, we know this is NOT an update, but a sales presentation. We will be there for 3 weeks so we do have the time to spare. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Carolyn

If you are there for 3 weeks - probably worth going to find out more about the final phase. You can learn lots about the timeline, prices, options, etc.

If you have the time - $100 or 6,000 points probably worth it.

We are going to go in January to hear more about the recent changes.

If you do go - get as much information as you can and please share in the Westin Sunset Thread.....

Tell them that you are there without your significant other and wink/smile at your significant other. SO couldn't come along so you brought a "friend". You can't buy without your spouse along! They should leave you alone.:hysterical: This of course relies on you having a SO on your ownership. If you are single tell them you are suddenly unemployed.

If you do this you risk not getting the points or reward. You have to meet certain criteria. Certainly easier to just say not interested.

It is not a high pressure situation to say no. They do not keep bugging you. However when I was there they gave us two catamaran trips worth $95 each. And we got to see the new units and ask lots of questions.

I haven't had a problem at WSJ but I was repeatedly contacted by the "update team" at Harborside. I kept saying no when they called, until I finally told them I was getting married that week and to leave me alone I don't have time.

The reason I wasn't bothered at St. John is I agreed to go to the meeting.

I go to Owners Updates at WSJ. The Sales folks tend to have lived on StJ for years, and always great to catch up on StJ living - and also see new resort phases since they seem to be new ones every year. Besides - we are there for 2 weeks.

Usually - no hard sale. I believe they were preparing to start selling Sheraton Flex last June. iirc, we got $125 in sand dollars.
