Hawthorne & Hawkins ???

I have a good friend who owns timeshares and wants to sell one or two. He says he thinks he is going to use Hawthorne & Hawkins Sales Group from Garland, TX to sell it for him. I'm concerned, because they contacted him out of nowhere. (Obviously a red flag.) But, has anyone heard of them? Any good or bad reports?

There is a simple test - if there is any upfront fee, besides a modest listing fee ($50 or less) then that's a huge red flag. REPUTABLE brokers take all the fees out of the proceeds of the sale - AFTER the sale.

That is indeed one major red flag. The other red flag is that this company promises to sell (or rent out) the TS for far above market value.

Questions like yours show up on TUG very regularly and generally the answer is no one has heard of them as they change names faster than you can change clothes.

Check out here, e-bay, Red Week , etc. to see what their resort is probably being given a way for.

Just tell them you will only use a TUG recommend closing company and they will vaporize.
