That Luau Stew sounds similar to Squid Luau. Not the best to look at but it is really good and the coconut milk makes it a little sweet.

I just use my willpower...and refuse to step on the scale. Problem solved. We hit a good chunk of these on our recent trip. I typically order the mac nut mahi at Duke's, but I go there for the hula pie.

Once when we went to the Kauai Dukes, they had a Hula Pie with raspberry ice cream. Best ever! It was a special, but I'm good with the mac nut ice cream too.

We spent 2 weeks on maui in 2018 and couldn't find manapua. Matter of fact, most people had no clue what it was when we asked! That bakery in the article seems to be closed. Lack of manapua is one of the reasons maui is our least favorite island.

Other favorites not mentioned in the article: kona coffee, malasadas, aloha maid, mac nut ice cream, fresh poi, and punaluu sweet bread!

I'm a big poke fan. Most supermarkets have good selections. We also very much like saimin, especially on Kauai.
