Hi everyone,
I was considering the Atlantis for a vacation but I am curious... I want to go for less than a week say 3-4 nights. Because of that I can't try to book until 3 months prior. I would like to go in April 2009... how difficult do you think it would be to get this to work out? Should I try or forget it??
Thanks- Sue

If it is spring break- forget it. I do not know if you would have a chance toward the middle to end of the month but you have a few things working in your favor:
1. Higher flight costs
2. Struggling ecomony
3. Higher SO in most of April (platinum season)
4. Most kids are in school and most parents choose not to pull them out

Best of luck in getting in if that is what you decide to do.

It will be very, very hard. Harborside is almost 100% booked up through the end of 2008.

But, why not make the 800 number call. It's a freebie. People do cancel. The worst Starwood can say is that there are no vacancies for the days you want. :)

I think you would be much better off in trying to book the full week - we are just coming up to the 8 month mark now. Trying to get Harborside in April is challenging enough but trying to get it at 90 days - good luck.

Saw,

3 yrs ago, we stayed at Harborside for 3 nights. We checked in on Easter Sunday. I actually think we had to be put on the waiting list and they called us for it. I love using my StarOptions for less than a week! (We got about 2 weeks of travel that year out of our 2 BDRM WMH Lockoff plus we converted the small side of the lockoff to Starpoints!)

We flew in the day before and stayed elsewhere in Nassau so that we could be at Harborside early in the day and maximize our time there. It was just perfect.

Good Luck!

Don't lose hope...I booked this year for 1 night LESS than 3 months out. I was going to be in Nassau for a cruise, so I booked the room. I got it on the first try. In talking to the Reservationist, she said she had a lot of availability in April!

FYI, we didn't go Spring Break or Easter week.

Harborside resale

If this type of usage is something you may do frequently- consider another option for your purchase that provides you with StarOptions such as Vistana Villages (certain phases only- not all phases are SNV mandatory) since you would be losing much of the home resort benefit by using it in this manner. You may find that both acquisition cost and annual fees are better at another resort...

If this usage type is just a one-time thing- then buy Harborside directly... It is an amazing resort and many of our listings have really dropped in price over the past six months.. Since there is no ROFR for this resort- it's a great time to be a buyer!

Good luck!
