I currently own a week 22 at Harbor Ridge. We really like the place and love the area. I was just able to purchase a week 33 on ebay for a ridiculously good price :)

Here is whats bothering me though - The seller is supposedly a guy who owns lots of timeshares and rents them out.

Why would he be selling at a price that is thousands below market value? He is also selling two other weeks but they are lower demand times.

Anyone know anything about Harbor Ridge that I'm not aware of?

Nope! Great Resort! Awesome Location! Low MFs!

Must have made an offer that worked for him. That's a well known group of resellers (postcard company) on eBay (CJ Timeshares previously). I was watching that one and hoped to bid on it. Congratulations!

Change your mind about it, let me know. :D

Awesome - Thanks for allaying my concerns. We love it there too.

They also have a bi-annual week 17 and a week 38 if you want to contact them before they list. I can pm you the contact info if you want.

Didn't realize it was CJ. That makes me happy. I've been happy with them in the past.

P.S. $1,500 :D:D:D

Congrats! I was watching that one too! Thank goodness you bought it so I wouldn't be tempted to buy :)

Yep, great deal on the Harbor Ridge. Enjoy!

I missed out on two timeshares today.

The gods must be looking out for me since I'm having trouble controlling my timeshare impulses.

I think that I'm just as happy that I missed out as I would have been if I had snagged either or both of these.

I've got plenty of maintenance fees coming up real soon. Really don't need to add any more at this time.

I would also contact the resort directly...they keep a list of owners looking to sell, and the HOA owns about 70 weeks they wouldn't mind finding new owners for.

My sentiments exactly!!!

I know of no major problems at the resort, but you should check the status of any week you buy with them before closing. Southwest Harbor is currently under a two year major construction project that is impacting traffic, so I carefully avoided it on our trip to the area this month.

There are no major problems at the resort and no special assessments on the horizon. They've been able to make major structural upgrades to the ocean-side of all the units on a staggered basis and still have a MF that hovers right around $500.

As for the reconstruction of main street in Southwest Harbor, the main part of SW Harbor is to the *south* of the turnoff to Harbor Ridge, so it is not directly impacted by the traffic. They have also agreed to suspend construction during the height of the summer season. I would not use the construction as a reason to avoid the resort--this construction does not in any way impact access to Bar Harbor, the carriage paths, or the parts of the resort on the east part of the island.

(If anyone has any other specific questions, please feel free to PM me. My mother is on the board of the HOA, and lives half of the year on MDI.)
