After a long search, I finally got my request fulfilled: Eagles Nest Beach Resort on Marco Island. We are assigned to unit 307. Can anyone tell me where this is located. Is this in the tower or in one of the villas? If it's in the tower does this mean the 3rd. floor. Will we be able to see the Ocean from here?

Hopefully an owner of the Eagles Nest on Marco Island will reply to my question. I'm assigned to unit 307. Please, can you tell me where this unit is located (tower or villas) and if in the tower are we able to see the ocean from there? Thank you for any insight you can give me.

Reading a response to my question regarding Unit 307 at the Eagles Nest I'm a little concerned and disappointed to learn that the Unit has a solid wall half way up, instead of a screened in balcony. What do we expect to see as far as the Ocean is concerned? We are two couples in our 80's and was so excited to get this exchange. Is there any chance that we can request a different unit on an upper floor so that we can relax and enjoy the beautiful views? Any suggestions are very welcome.

Hi. Eagles nest owner here. It’s a well-maintained, lovely resort. It is unlikely you’d get a different unit. You will be in the end unit. We had 407 in 2022. You’ll have a partial ocean view with view of landscaping and Mediterranean style rooftops of the 2 story villas to the right side. I thought it was quite nice. The 1/2 wall was not an issue for us. Enjoy.

Thank you Elaine for your response. I have read so much about the unobstructed and absolutely beautiful views of the ocean and sun set from every unit in this resort and waited so long for this exchange. I know once a unit is assigned to the individual its very unlikely that they will change it for us. But I really wish there was something I could do about asking for an upper floor. Any suggestions???

The resort is usually fully occupied and units numbers are assigned when reservations are made. You can ask, but I do not see that happening, esp. for a RCI exchanger.
We got a similar lower floor unit at hgvc surf club as a RCI exchanger years ago. We felt lucky to get the exchange. View was not ideal, but not awful. We’ve had “garden” views on several oceanfront Marriott exchanges. That’s the risk of not being an owner. We enjoyed all of our trades.

It’s been a while since we have stayed there but I believe the tower goes from 2-10 in terms of floor numbers. 2 is the one with the half wall so you should have a screened balcony on floor 3. It is a corner unit so the view will be a little obstructed but you should still have some view of the Gulf. You could possibly call ahead of time and ask to be put in a different unit. It is always worth a shot. I am sure you will enjoy it no matter what unit they put you in! Any questions about Marco I would be happy to help. I used to live there and now in Naples.

Even as an owner at another popular resort, I never go with the expectation of getting a Best View location.
(I do understand your desire.)
I'm thinking this is the type of resort where the owners of Unit #307, week ##, made the decision to deposit their week to RCI.
You were the fortunate recipient of that exchange.
It wouldn't hurt to make a phone call to inquire, but I'd follow the words of the title you wrote for this post.

Thank you too all who responded to my post. Please don't think I'm ungrateful for this exchange into Eagle's Nest, actually, I'm thrilled. But I would be so grateful for an upper room so we can see the beach and Ocean with out looking over tiled roofs of the other buildings. I will attempt to call them and plead with them for the upper floor. Our exchange isn't until end of August and I was hoping that would give us more flexibility. This is our first visit to Eagles Nest and may be our last because of health issues. Never give up .... right?

It's not like a hotel/generic RCI reservation where front desk assigns units a few weeks ahead or upon arrival. We all get assigned a specific unit on our confirmation. They might be a unit they hold back for maintenance issues, but they just do not have extra units to swap out. Enjoy your stay-wonderful place.

This was not an RCI exchange. I was using II.

Okay, then... "It's not like a hotel/generic RCI or II reservation..."
Many owners at E/N use (or rent out) the specific TS unit they own.
You were given the unit of a rare owner who surrendered their week.
Thus, wriggle-room at the front desk may be very limited.

To the OP, I wish you luck in your villa request. Just enjoy your villa #307 and all the resort amenities.

@gnipgnop , congrats we love Marco Island, we own at Sunrise Bay Resort & Club and getting an exchange at any of the Marco Island TS's is so hard... I think you will really enjoy your unit...have fun

Reading some old reviews I noticed that the resort did not provide beach towels. Is that still a fact or has it changed?

Pool/beach towels are provided. 6 per room, as I recall. In unit w/d also. There are chair/umbrella rentals on the beach, or you can bring your own.
