We had a discovery package with the 400,000 points and just did the dumb thing of purchasing the developer package during our recent trip. Knew right away it was all too expensive but also knew about rescinding ability. Sending my rescind letter today, 2 days after purchase in Florida so I’m good, but here are my questions:
1. We had 2 upcoming trips already booked with our discovery points. They closed our discovery membership when they created the developer account. Are those trips now canceled? Did I lose the points on them?
2. Can I get my discovery package restored? I requested it on the rescind letter.

Can’t seem to find answers to this on any forums.

Rescinding should restore you to what you had before you signed up. If you had points and trips left on discovery I didn't think they immediately closed that account. You are going to have call through to verify.

It might depend a little bit on whether the closure of the Discovery was all part of the same transaction, or whether it was a separate thing. Either way, you may be a good candidate for a resale purchase at this point.

We did call. Turns out it was a separate transaction and both accounts are open right now. We are going to do a resale purchase of Wyndham points as rci and last call vacations are our primary goal. Looking at lowest cost Maintenace fees for the year purchase.

That was the discovery. We bought that for just under 4k when we refused so many times they dangled that carrot. The numbers worked out for us so we did purchase that one. I think it was 18 months to use 400,000 points with option to roll over unused points into an owner package. The package we bought 2 days ago was ~21,000 minus discovery package and then about 4k down. Total finances was around $13,000 for $174,000 points and $970 in MF. Looking at a resale package for a few bucks with 84,000 points and around $800 in MF in Kissimmee Florida. Just to get into RCI. If anyone has any better I’d be interested in picking one up. Would have preferred home location in New Orleans where we are from but not sure if that matters at all
