We’re going to Hacienda Encantada the beginning of January on an exchange - our first time at the resort. What is a good transport company from the airport to the resort? Our flights were changed and we aren’t landing until 7 pm. Also, is the all- inclusive option worth it? I understand it includes a shuttle into their Cabo restaurants as well as transportation from the airport to the resort. Also, how much pressure will we get to agree to the sales pitch - just want to be prepared to dodge that if possible? Thanks everyone for your info!

Suzanne welcome to Cabo.

You will have a great time at HE. It is truly a stunning resort. HE is a resort that you can only book airport to resort transportation with no return option other than resort arranged taxi. The resort will pool you up on departure day for a shared taxi to the airport at a rate of $70/4 people. No worries book your one way shuttle with either: https://www.cabosanlucastours.net/Airport-Shuttle.htm or http://www.funloscabos.com/index.php or http://www.cape-transfers.com

We have used all and all are about the same at $17-19/person one way. You can also book a private taxi for about $70-$80 for up to 4 people.

If there is only two of you definitely take the shuttle. It may make one or two stops before HE and 1 or two stops in town after HE as HE is about 5 miles before you get to Cabo.

AI is a huge ripoff in Cabo and resort food quality/service is average. You are better off paying for the shuttle at $5/person one way or taking the local collectivo bus (15 pesos one way) that stops at the entrance to HE. Coming back late take the resort shuttle or a taxi IF you have at least 4 person as it's $20- $25 one way even though it's only 6 miles. The taxi union is a ripoff in Cabo and is cartel controlled.

The owner at HE also owns the restaurants in the Golden zone out in front of Marina Fiesta the sister resort. Food is OK and is reasonable for the tourist zone but more authentic food is all around town so ditch the resorts and get out and patronize the local restaurants for better food, more reasonable prices and you will be appreciated by the locals.

Presentation offers are constant every time you pass through the lobby for the first 3 days. After that the in house girls relinquish to the street sharks (OPCs). The desk just outside of check in is their main station and there is another one across the entrance by the other glass doors. No gracias works but they always claim they don't remember if they asked you. One of them is nice and one is obnoxious and pushy. You'll learn who is who after the first day. We've never been solicited anywhere else in the resort but their Golden zone restaurants are full of street sharks (OPCs).

IF you want to take a tour of HE get your invitation from the shark tank at the airport as they have a bigger CASH budget ($400) than the in house gals ($200). $400 in resort credit is worth about $200 as bottled water is $6- not even served in a glass. We seldom eat there except for 2for1 happy hour or their pizzas are pretty good at $10. Cabo and HE resorts have some of the highest cash prices I've seen in the world as they do that to show value in their AI programs.

The presentation itself is relatively low pressure but varies by salesman. Takes 2- 2 1/2 hours depending on if you have questions. PLEASE do not buy there as HE recently has reneged on all of their past contracts and current owners are NOT happy with the developer but still love the resort.

Tips: Walmart will deliver groceries and beverages direct to the lobby at HE for $2 must be purchased online and can be COD
Collectivos are your friend taxis are not.
Getting 2 or 3 blocks off the marina saves you lots of money on everything
Pay in Pesos saving you at least 10% (except taxis who only want USD- why??????)
PM me for local restaurant recommendations as we spend 4-6 weeks per year in Cabo for the last 10 years and have a friend that has lived there for 20+ years

@oldbuyer I am also going to Cabo later this year and your tips are very helpful.

Do you know if the Walmart will also deliver groceries to Fiesta Americana TS down the road? If so, how would we order? Is there a website for this Walmart? How much time does it take to order and deliver?

Thank you so much! Good info. We have 10 timeshares and definitely don’t need anymore. We’ve been to Cabo twice before. The last time at Villas del Arco and the time before at Casa Dorada at the Hilton Resort. I’ve given Interval certificates to friends who have stayed at HE and loved it. I like looking at the sea rather than actually getting into it. Just give me a nice pool and sun and I’m happy.

I'm sure they will deliver to Fiesta Americana. The delivery fee has been as low as 39 pesos to HE and 50 pesos to central Cabo so you should be within that range. Your order will be in Spanish so you might want to use Google Chrome to translate while ordering. walmart.com.mx (department "super")
Also consider a bus ride Cedraui Express at the airport round a bout in San Jose. The Suber Cabo bus stop is in front of the store. Wine bar, beer bar, salsa bar, sushi bar, bakery etc etc.

Thank you. Do you know if you have to order a day or two in advance? or can we order when we get there for same day.

HE has an even better view and the wales run then. Since you have been to Arco and Casa Dorado you know where some of the the good food is.
BTW Marina Sol has .65 poco tacos 4 types on Mondays
and for a authentic pesole adventure it's Dona Soco in Mesa Colorado. Good clean food and 95 pesos for a medio pesole and a beer! https://www.facebook.com/pozoleriadonasococsl You'll need a taxi or good understanding of the collectivo routes to get there (Mesa 2 bus gets a block away.

Have a great trip- you must have traded into a phase 1 fixed week as they were not allowing any loyalty week bookings in Jan or Feb for floating members so we have to go in March next year- buggers.

We ordered the night before for a one hour delivery window we picked the following day and they arrived 10 min late but we did get 21 out of 22 items exactly as ordered. I'd now suggest 24 hours in advance of when you want delivery.

I must have been hallucinating. I just reread my post. We’re going in Oct, not Jan. Too many trips planned ....
