Hello. I am using a guest confirmation stay for the first time. Can someone please tell me what they should expect? Are they required to attend a sales pitch? Also, it didn’t take any points out of my account for their stay.

There is no requirement for a tour although your guests may be made to feel like they are by what the "concierge" says. The points must have come from somewhere, check again?

I booked one room for me and one for a friend. It shows a transaction of -66,000 points for my room and a separate transaction of 0 points for hers.

They are not required to attend a sales pitch (unless you count the concierge trying to get them to go to one ;)...... of course the parking pass/bracelet givers at the front will try anything to get them too. This means possibly leading them to believe they are required. HOWEVER they are not. Thats an important distinction they should know.

Depending on where you go the concierge will try anything...to get you to go as you likely know from being a owner.

.As far as not using points, they may have come from somewhere else...or maybe double check by viewing your confirmations that it went through.
You should see one in your (owner name) and one in your guests.

Do you really have 2 reservations? Each reservation takes points.

Did you borrow points from a future year for the second reservation? Because that's what it looks like when I make a reservation in the current year with points borrowed from the next year.
