I guess I have never had this situation before with HGVC. Wyndham lots of time, but HGVC not.

I am traveling to a destination where we are having a big group, and have booked multiple rooms. Is HGVC like Wyndham, where each room has to have a GC that is unique or does HGVC not care and they can be all under the same owner or the same guest for that matter.

What does HGVC do?

I will not be able to make it, but the rest of the family is going. I am still assuming I can make a reservation all in Brother's name and when they all get there they can figure out who is going to what room. They decided to go in one direction while I am already committed to another. I'm already in Scotland in June.

Each unit will be a separate, reservation fee + guest fee. I don't think there is a way to book multiple units on a single reservation, but you could try a phone rep to see if they can do it to save a few fees.

I know that, not trying to circumvent the cost, but Wyndham requires every reservation to have a different name. Does HGVC do that?

Not that I'm aware of. That was something Wyndham did as part of their campaign against mega renters.

Sorry, I didn't fully read your initial post. You will need GC and assign the rooms to the reservation for check-in purposes. What your guests do after that (ie. switch rooms) is their option.
