Guest Cert if Owner Checks In?

Just invited friends along with us to Bay Club, so upgraded from 1 BR to 2 BR. The confirmation has the following language: "Guest certificates must be presented at check-in, if applicable; guest occupancy only permitted with guest certificate."

Huh? In the past, you only needed a guest cert if the guest is checking in, not if the owner checks in. Has that policy changed, or is this just bad wording on their part?

Guest certificates are only required if guests are checking in. I read that statement that way.

I wouldn't worry about it as long as you're there. Last time I went to Bay Club, we had 11 of us in total across 3 units (2 villas and 1 plan B) and only 2 of us are owners. There was no issue checking everyone into all 3 units, and no guest certificates were involved.
