We're here now making our way to HHI where we'll be for 12 days. It's not walking distance to the Mall but close to a metro station that brings you right there. We received 2 great units with a great view of the Pentagon and Washington Monument. The hotel has a nice indoor pool and small gym that my son and i used last night and it had everything we needed.

Was there a parking fee and if so how much.

$29. Metro is $4 RT.

Just came back from a nice day checking out the Smithsonian museums and the Air and Space. I still can't get over how small the first space craft, the Friendship 7, that John Glenn flew was. I mean it was like he was just encapsulated in metal. We enjoyed the day immensely.

Tonight we're headed to the Lebanese Tavera for dinner. I'm told it's a 10 minute walk and there is a upscale mall also close by which is where you pick up the Metro. The hotel runs shuttles to and from if you didn't want to walk or weather is bad, which it was last night as it started pouring buckets. I was going to call a cab but remembered they mentioned the shuttle so I called and it was a 10 minute wait so that is a nice service the hotel provides.

Cab? Who uses cabs anymore :)

Just use Uber, so much quicker and easier. First $20 in rides is free which would probably 2-3 trips in d.c since everything is so close. Use promo code: marcm1209ue if you don't have an account. I even got my mom and dad using it now which I never thought would happen!
