We were at the Grandview in February, 2010. We're heading back the end of this month. What is the newest building and should we request it? I did read somewhere about the noise from new construction until 2013. I think that we stayed in the Daisy building during our last stay. One guest coming with us cannot walk very far. Should we request a building near the check in?
Thanks for your help. :ponder:

As far as I know, you can drive up pretty close to all the buildings, and the elevators are within 50 feet or so from the doors. The check-in building is further from all the lodging towers and has limited parking. Not sure which is newest, nor whether it would make much difference. The view might be better looking up the strip if your view was North. If your less mobile guest has a handicap mirror hanger, they should bring it so you can park close to whichever building you are assigned. There are plentiful handicap spaces.

Thanks for your comment about bringing the handicap permit. I advised my friend to request one before the trip. I had no idea that she did not have one. Her family did not know they could download the form online for the doctor to complete. I will check back to see if anyone recommends a particular building. I enjoy staying in the newer buildings when on vacation, but I do not want to be disturb by construction noise.

Derb: Where you bothered by any construction noise? I will also request a high floor and maybe the new building if noise is not a concern. Thanks

We were at the Grandview last month and stayed in the Daisey Bldg. I had requested a ground floor unit, close to an exit because one of our guest has COPD and was on oxygen the entire week. We actually had 2 units, next to each other and they were located at the end of the bldg (first floor, right next to the parking garage). We never used the garage because there was always parking in front of the bldg, very close to the end exit door, close to our units. Management was very accommodating and it was extremely convenient. In fact, if our guest wanted to go next door to the casino, he just called the front desk and they would send a security person to pick him up in a golf cart and take him as close to the casino as they could. Although the Daisey bldg is close to the new one under construction, we were never bothered by any noise. The most annoying thing about the week was the non stop "sales/tours" and sales people wandering all over the place.

Not a peep and they were working. I think the noise makers,
riveting moving beams are all done so they are mostly on
interior trim work.
