Does GPR have any type of give-back or buy-back program?

Oddly, they don't. They have a resale office where they will sell your unit for you, but the prices are inflated so much that I doubt they do many sales. There are other resale agents who will sell these units at a more reasonable price.

I have an acquaintance who did a deed back at Grand Pacific Palisades a few years ago. I can't remember the details - I think that they had to pay a year of maintenance fees upfront maybe. Sweet deal for GPP though - it was a two bedroom lockoff with the ocean view that they gave back. I'm sure that they were able to resell it easily.

As I recall, she had to call them a few times before she found the right person.

That is crazy! I cannot believe someone would want to rid themselves of ocean view. That wouldn't be hard to rent for a profit. Just reserve a July week and put it out there.

Thanks for the answers. This helps me make a decision about a timeshare I'm thinking of selling/giving away.

Have you taken a look at the "price history" section for the resort in question here on TUG?

Also, look at the ebay "sold" listings that match a search for that resort.

GPP summer weeks are fixed weeks so they couldn't reserve a July week..

The best they could do would be to reserve a June week(week 25) or a September week(week 35). Of course the demand is less at those times(even though I love September/early October anywhere in San Diego County).
