I have read the reviews, but would love to hear opinions from anyone who has been to or stayed at both resorts. I see two bedroom units available at both and am looking at a week for September or October of this year.

Thanks,

Linda

Linda,

We have stayed at both resorts in 2-bedrooms.

Our older kids, 10 - 12 yo, like Seapoint better due to th Basketball Courts, Volleyball Courts, Ping-pong, etc... We go every other Easter to Seapoint.
The Two bedrooms at Seapoint have been updated and sleep our family of 7 comfortably. We like the Fireplace on the Chilly spring evenings. Also you can walk to the beach.

Grand Pacific Palisades is a Newer Resort. I like the gym, the brew pub, the pools for the Smaller children.

You can not go wrong with either Resort!!

GPP is closer to restaurants and shopping. It's a pretty good hike to the beach from Seapointe, and you're more likely to hear the trains going past if you like to have windows open.

There may be train noise at the Sea Pointe Resort but the added value of having the train station nearby, ie walking distance, gives you transportation (via Coaster) to the North to Oceanside and to the South all the way to Santa Fe Station in Downtown, San Diego. Same Coaster ticket is good for two hours and can be used for the buses and trolleys.

Agreed that you cannot go wrong with either resort.....I own at both. September/October should still be warm and I would prefer CSR with its ocean views and proximity to the beach.

GPP will be great too.....have fun.

when will you be there?

we just reserved the week of 9/23 at GPP.

Thanks Neil and JohhnyO for the links.

Cheers,
Maria & Tim

We choose not to stay at either even though we had the option. Instead we picked Sothern California Beach Club, Carlsbad Inn, and Conando Beach Resort. The others were too far from the water for us given the other resorts location.
