Anyone know what WiFi costs at the Grand Mayan Acapulco?

The gym fee is listed at $23, but it doesn't state if that's per person or not.

Thanks!

I thought these were included in the Fees you paid if you were an exchanger. Owners do not have to pay fee. Check your reservation.

This was on my SFX Reservation for Grand Bliss in April --- "a one-time $75.00 Resort Fee. The resort fee will cover: Pick Up from Airport to Resort(only), Internet Service, Fitness Center Access, Daily Maid Service, Turn Down Service, Local Telephone Calls, Internal Resort Transportation, Welcome Cocktail, Daily newspaper (upon request), and Incoming Faxes. "

Yeah, apparently Vidanta has changed (yet again) for specific locations.
Acapulco via SFX no longer has any resort fee, other than the 3% sales tax.
So you pay for WiFi. RCI's website indicates there's 2 levels of Internet, but they only list the fees for the Premium:

*Internet Premium available for 3 devices with a cost of $173 per hour, $345 per day & $1,346 per week in mexican pesos (Tax incluided).

SFX confirmation says Spa is $23/day but doesn't state per person.

I may just email the resort to get confirmation in writing. The arbitary and random (IMO) fee structure with Vidanta is really annoying lately.
LOL!

Oops! I forgot that Acapulco does not have the fee. The taxi union there does not allow them to provide transportation.

We have never exchanged there, just went as an owner, but paid for WIFI. We do not go to the gym - there is a super long beach you can walk and water aerobics at the pool.

The 1346 Pesos is about $70 US. Because we bought a WIFI extender several years ago, when we do have to pay for in room WIFI, we pay for one device and connect that and then connect our computers, Kindles and iPad to it. But, it cost us about $50 originally, so not a savings for one trip. WIFI is a necessity for us and I pay the fee. One time in Acapulco, before it was available in the units, we went down to the computer area and paid for a declining balance amount of time for the week. We created a crowd because we were watching Kansas & Kentucky play BB using our SlingBox connection to our son's house in KC. Even the manager could not believe that we could do that and he joined the group.

I absolutely love the Acapulco location. The beach palapas near the turtle hut are the best in all of Mayan World. Have a great vacation.

Looking forward to meeting you in November at the Buganvilias.

The Vidanta resort fee structure has varied by location since implemented .
For Example
- to date : Mazatlan has never had one & currently ( like all Vidanta locations ) you can exchange there via RCI as many times in a year as you want .
( construction is listed into 2019 ) .

Mayan Palace PV - Marina was $ 7 pp/pd when Nuevo was $ 11
{ MP- PV - Marina still has/had the old wifi supplier / with a charge as of Feb 2018 }

Nuevo and RM have had the same fee structure / and the priciest
when each change was implemented .

Thanks Phyllis! Will have to check into a Wi-Fi extender. That sounds very useful for a variety of situations.

I use Sprint as my cell phone service; they let me use cell data unlimited in Mexico and set up a personal hotspot with 10 GBytes per month per phone. You might check and see if you have that type of service available with yours. It’d depend on the cell signal there, of course.

We use AT&T and have an older 20GB per month that carries over unused data to the next month. It works great in Mexico and if you call them you can get the free International Roaming and Roam North America also no charge if you have a 20GB plan. We seldom use our hotspots, so when we go on vacation,we do have quite a bit to use. We used it some when in Rosarito last month because the WIFI was spotty in the condo we rented.

Our Portable Router is a D-Link SharePoint GO Portable Router.

Here's the breakdown from the resort, in case anyone wonders:

Thank you very much for contacting Concierge at The Grand Mayan Acapulco Hotel.

We offer three options regarding the wi fi service:

a) Basical service, this service is free of charge. Only three devices.

b) Premium service: Per hour 173 pesos, per day 345.00 and week 1346.00 pesos. These prices includes three devices.

c) High Speed service: Per hour 219.00 pesos, per day 438.00 and week 1710.00 mexican pesos.

Gym/Spa:
The price of 26 us is per person per visit, includes Gym, Steam room and jacuzzi.

The free basic works fine for checking email, posting on TUG :), and just basic perusal of the internet. We have used it for downloading Kindle books with no problems. Streaming videos and live sports would be have download problems - too much buffering. We take DVD's to watch when we are on vacation.

I’ve only used the basical one and never had an issue with it. Haven’t tried streaming anything though.
