I'm considering taking a unit at the Grand Luxxe riveria Maya, I notice that there's 2 different 2 bedroom units that interval shows. There's a 2 bedroom seep 6 and a 2 bedroom seep 8. I'm trying to figure out the difference between them? Interval is showing only 2 bedroom sleep 6, I have looked at everything trying to figure it out but just haven't been able to see the differences...

The regular Grand Luxxe Master Suite that we have has a King Bed in each of the bedrooms and then the sofa beds in the living room. That unit would sleep 6. There is also a Grand Luxxe Master Villa Suite unit and the lock-out side has more of a Studio type setting that has a sofa in one area and then the bathroom and then the bedroom with the king bed. This would sleep 8. I once heard that most of the 2-bedroom units at Riviera Maya had this layout, but that may have been in the first building they built.

I think some of the lock-out units have 2 Queen beds in that room, so it would sleep 4 in that room. That happens in the Grand Mayan and Grand Bliss a lot, but not sure how often in the Grand Luxxe.

Since you are an owner maybe you can answer a few questions for me, does the 2 bedroom sleep 6 have the large deck and the small pool on the deck? Can I use all the pools all over the grounds? How are the food prices at the restaurants? How's the beach? Thanks in advance...

It's funny how small things jog your mind. That little square tub outside on the deck. That was at the myan palace. A one bdrm. It is a wrist band set up for pools. You can go down but not up, grand Mayan. The river ride at grand Mayan is the big attractions, many more plantings and paths. They had meal packages, so we got the two meal, five day package. First class meals, and many nights shared rather than getting two meals.

The Grand Luxxe has a very large deck and the dipping pool is much larger than the one at the Grand Mayan and Grand Bliss. You will be able to use every pool on the property with a Grand Luxxe Bracelet.

Grand Bliss Bracelets let you use the Mayan Palace, Grand Mayan, and Beach Club pools, but not the Grand Luxxe pool.

Grand Mayan Bracelet allows you to use the Grand Mayan and Mayan Palace pools.

Mayan Palace Bracelet only allows you to use the Mayan Palace pool.

I have not been to Mayan Riviera in a few years, so I am not sure about the beach now - I understand they have been working on it to add more sand.

We tend to purchase lunch at the pool restaurant which is usually cheaper than dinner. Room service is generally a pretty good deal. We tend to share room service. Some of the restaurants do not open until 7 for dinner, and we do not like to eat that late.
