I'm heading to GRand Luxxe on sunday and am looking at the map of the accommodations - I've heard people talk about the towers and the residence - but what is Grand Luxxe Puenta - what size units are there - I'm confirmed for a two bedroom Master Villa. Thanks. Linda

I assume you mean the Punta. It is the building right on the point (punta) at the mouth of the river into the bay. There are a combination of one bedroom, two bedroom, and three bedroom suites. It is a top tier location; you will be pleased.

If you look at the Map, it is right in front (toward the beach) of Grand Luxxe 1 - actually connected via covered walkway.

Yes, that's what I meant - sorry - I didn't know if that was also a possible place we may be placed. I'm so excited to go down there. It's our first visit. thanks so much!

Most of the time, exchanger are put in tower 3 or 4.

Is there a map of the grand luxxe or of the whole place in Nuevo Vallarta. I booked Grand Luxxe through Interval for next summer (my kids have never seen the Pacific Ocean) and it would be nice to get an idea of the layout.

nevermind I found one: http://www.vidanta.com/destinations/nuevo-vallarta

Great location!

I was in a three bedroom suite in the Punta Tower last year and am headed there next week with my daughters. It was by far the most luxurious timeshare I have ever experienced. As the poster above said, Punta is the best Grand Luxxe location. Every floor in the building has its own concierge to help with any request (The floor I stayed on had only five suites). You will enjoy daily maid service, nightly turn down service, a huge deck with a plunge pool, waiters that pamper you, a variety beautiful pools, excellent selection of restaurants, beautiful grounds, and door to door golf cart service around the extensive resort. It will be hot, hot, hot and will most likely thunder shower late in the day, but that's why there are pools and air conditioners. I was worried that the weather would be a big factor, but found that it didn't effect my enjoyment of the resort (I was there in mid September). No need for a car as you can take a taxi or bus to get to Puerto Vallarta to explore or have dinner. Also, there is no need to leave the Vidanta resort complex if you are not so inclined. You can eat at a different restaurant everyday and not eat at all available. There is a nightclub for evening enjoyment serving both drinks and food, along with musical entertainment. What i liked best was that the resort staff wants you to enjoy your stay: staff members are warm and welcoming. I did not encounter anyone pushing me to explore ownership at this resort (I think I was an exception to the rule), so I can't speak to that. Still, I have read accounts of high pressure tactics and you should be aware of this before you agree to sit down with a sales person. When I spoke about the warm staff, I was not including sales staff. Enjoy your vacation - I know you will!

Thanks so much - we leave tomorrow and are so psyched! We aren't owners - I traded a Marriott 2 bedroom for the two bedroom Master Villa that we're confirmed in - it says each bedroom has a king - but we'd prefer one of the bedrooms to have 2 queens since the people in one of the bedrooms aren't a couple - and we'd like to avoid using the sofa beds - but it appears the only units that have the two beds in the bedrooms are the presidential villas and not just the master villas. I guess we'll find out our options tomorrow. Yes, I'm not going to let the rain stop us from having a great time. Thanks!

We have a 3 bedroom booked and are scheduled to leave 1 year from today. The temp is similar to home but the humidity is about 10-15 points higher which makes me nervous. It also looks so fancy. We will be in a 1980's outerbanks cottage the week before.

It is fancy - actually awesome!!! No matter which building you are assigned to. :)

Rooms are very nice but probably too big for nothing. I went 2 weeks in a 2 bedrooms this summer and we could have invited 25 people in our room for diner an not feel crowded. I asked our floor concierge and she let us visited a 3 bedrooms Spa something. Crazy how big it was.

Tower 3 is the worst location in my opinion. It is far from any pools.

Before we go to Grand Luxxe my wife told me that she didn't want to cook during vacation this time and we will go to restaurant all the time. When she saw our room, she liked so much the kitchen that she wanted to cook all the time. We went only twice to restaurant. But overall, she didn't like the resort because it is too big for her taste. If you want to go outside of the resort, you need to take a shuttle to go to Santuario and another shuttle from there to go to the taxi stand. Lot of waste of time. My 7 years old daughter on the other hand likes so much taking shuttles that she said that she will work there and she will drive shuttle when she will adult.

There was no water in ponds in front of tower 3 & 4 (west side). There was bulldozers working in them. So, I asked and got a room on the east side of Tower 4 (view of the Ameca river, the ocean and Puerto Vallarta).

When we go to the Riviera Maya location or Nuevo, we just know that the units are awesome and we need to walk a lot. I am not big into exercise but I figure the walking burns enough calories for Corona and/or Margaritas and guacamole when hanging out at a pool or on the beach. :)

We do cook in our unit but do eat a few meals at the resort - mostly when family joins us. The kitchen is nice - I do wish they had added a dishwasher, but when we go to the grocery, I buy disposable plates and silverware. so I just have to wash the pots & pans that I used. (Or leave the housekeeper and extra tip by those!)

what's your recommendation for a good grocery store/foodstore to go to on my first day to get things for the kitchen - I heard there is a Costcos (but I'd have to get in bulk) - are there other options - beyond the store on property?

Walmart is closer and a lot of people go there, but we like Mega the best. There is one on the south side of Bucerias. You would need to take a taxi to go to either. They have a good bakery and fresh pico de gallo in the deli area and you can buy avacados and limes to make guacamole (or buy that ready made in the deli too). A rotisserie chicken and some of the fried rice and flour tortillas make great lunches!
