Has anyone recently stayed at the Grand Beach I? The units are said to be quite roomy, but how is the overall condition of the resort? Are there any activities for teens besides the pools?
Thanks,
Juan

Nice "Wow" Factor When We Saw It On Tour.

We have not (yet) stayed there, but we toured it once (mainly for the freebies) & were duly impressed with the overall niceness of the resort & the individual units.

If we can finagle a Grand Beach exchange some day, we'll definitely go.

Any Important Difference Between Grand Beach Sections Or Phases ?

Some timeshares have different phases that really are different.

Is that the case with Grand Beach I & Grand Beach II ?

We stayed at Grand Beach in November 2000 in a 3 Bedroom unit. At that time is was an Embassy branded property through RCI, Sunterra reps checked us in and I believe some units were II as well. I don't know what phase we stayed in; the exteriors and construction all appeared to be similar. The building we were in appeared to be all 3 Bedroom, non-lockout units. I may have done a report at the time. I recall it was a low-key place with a few activities geared to young kids. I believe there was a bus trip to a day-cruise casino and a few other adult-themed, off-property things.

Does not answer your question, but I would consider staying here again in a 3 Bedroom.

I believe that at least 1 or 2 of the furthest away buildings from the main checkin are Sunterra (or were but are still something else besides Embassy)

We stayed in one of those buildings years ago and they are a lockout setup so you can get 2 bedrooms or 1 bedrooms (I believe is the setup) or 3 bedrooms..the phase I part that is Embassy are all regular 3 bedrooms

Hope that helps some

There is only 1 building that is phase II, this is the lockout that was described. Although it is the newest building, I still prefer to stay in the phase I -3 bedroom buildings, they have larger living rooms and kitchens. I always request lakeview-nonsmoking. All are an easy walk to one of the pools.

It is average. Not the cleanest, getting towels is very hard.

If I ended up in a timeshare burden with them I would be so depressed.

I rented a week for $300.

Wow I couldnt disagree more...one of the nicer resorts around. Sure its not a Marriott with all the bells and whistles but we never had any problems with towels etc..
