This probably be a dumb question, but....

I am looking at buying a GPS units for hubby for Christmas and have been doing some research. I see that they mention maps for US, Canada, Europe, etc. Is it too much to ask for maps of the Caribbean?? Any chance this thing will work when we go to the islands??? That would probably be the most usefull place for me to have one when I am on a new island the first time.

Thanks,

Richard-

WOW !! I really had no idea that anything would be avaliable. Guess I need to research a little more before I decide what brand to buy so as make sure I get one that is compatible. Glad I asked the question.

Thanks,

Yes surely check around, we got one, well hubby did and brought to Mexico cause the salesman said it would work in Mexico...guess what it did not, so he took it back to states and I have since ordered one specifically for Mexico.

I'll know how it works around X-Mas time...

God luck in your research...

Well I e-mailed the guy with the Caribbean Map Project and got a quick reply. He says his maps work will all Garmin units. Also that Garmin come with Puerto Rico & USVI. So looks like I will be zeroing in on a Garmin unit and then go from there. Thanks for getting me headed in the right direction. When I asked the question I really thought there was no way, but you never know....

Thanks,

Any comments on Mio

My daughter's BF picked up a Mio Moov 200 to give to her for Christmas. Based on reviews that I read online, it's a decent basic model. Similar to entry level Magellans and Garmins.

Any Tuggers out there have any experience with this particular model?
Thanks
