A very cool week. Marriott and II both officially added our new re-sale week (#21) at Harbour Point at Shelter Harbor and within two days of our request, we were able to exchange into week #42 (October 14) in the Harbour Club at Harbour Town. That was easy! Although I thought we got the option to accept or reject the offer. We gave weeks 39-41 at Monarch, Heritage and Harbour Club as options. For some reason, I was under the impression that II would notify us if/when something matched our request and then we could say yea or nay. No matter, it came in at our preferred week, check-in day (Sunday), and property. Can't wait!:cheer:

II will automatically match your request, this is why it is important to only request what you actually would want to use. You do still have a yay or nay option, but you have to call to say nay. II gives you 24 hours from the time the request is matched to call them and decline it. Doing nothing is you saying Yay.

More often than not, we do NOT get a confirmation email when a pending request is satisfied. And when we have, sometimes it is beyond the 24-hr. period to decline it. So, as has already been stated, it's very important you include only those resorts and dates you are willing to accept, and, if your acceptable dates/times change after you have established your request, you need to update it.

This is also why if you are looking for a specific checkin day to also call II and indicate that. They will match you to any checkin day in the time period you selected.

Huh? When does the 24-hr period begin? When you receive the email confirmation right? What other time could there be? We got the email at 10:00am today. I saw no other time and date on the pdf that would start the clock.

II goes by when the match was confirmed, not by when they sent or you received your email which can be several hours or days afterwards. Apparently if you have a request you need to check every day and if you think you may cancel call right away to check the time of the confirmation as it is not listed anywhere online in your account or on any confirmation. If it is within the 24 hour it can be cancelled easily by the II agent and your ongoing search can be re-instated. If it is over 24 hours but less than than 48 you can usually (but not always) get an agent to get a supervisor's override to cancel the week. The closer to 24 hours the better. If it is over this period you are kind of stuck.
