The engineers who created the first television systems thought they had created the ultimate teaching medium. "People will be able to learn new languages or take math classes right in their homes!" That's what they thought they had created because that's how they would use that technology.

Five years later it was nothing but variety shows and cigarette advertisements.

The Internet was going to be the same thing. "Finally! All the information at our fingertips."

And most people use it to look at cat pictures and flat-Earth websites.

AI is the same. "Finally! Real digital help with everything!"

Average and below-average people are going to use it so they can turn their brains off and never think for themselves again.
