Hello,
We are looking for good restaurants within walking distance of Marriott Ocean Pointe or a short drive (10-15 minutes). We like pasta dishes and fresh grilled seafood (fish & shellfish) but are open to any suggestions.

Has anybody here been to Seasons 52 lately? Comments?

Is Max & Eddie's still bad or has it improved?

What about 3800 Ocean (formerly Solu) at the Marriott Singer Island Resort & Spa, just north of OP?

Looking forward to your comments & suggestions.

We LOVE 3800 Ocean - and its sister 3030 in Ft. Lauderdale - same executive chef. We will be at Ocean Pointe 3/10 to 3/17, so plan to eat there then! No t sure about Restaurant.com coupons - DH will check now.

We are at Ocean Point this week as well and ate at Bonefish the other night. I know it is a chain but the scallops and shrimp were excellent. Our friend had the trout and absolutely loved it. It's near the Publix on PGA Blvd and US 1.

Ok - we did not find a restaurant.com coupon - but will go anyway - money spent on-site make more points. The lobster poached in butter - WOW! And I am originally form Cape Cod, and KNOW lobster - cook it here at home (NY) and know no fear in dismantling them. We looked over the r.com site, and found that there were some we did NOT like - I will do this again with the Boss, and this time, write them down - phone has been ringing all day (it's a Monday . . ) so I got distracted. Gotta eat, then go teach a college evening class (chamber music for multiple flutes - how is THAT for a Geek Meet?)

More later - or tomorrow . .

Griffinhouse, Thanks!
Is Bonefish in the same plaza as Publix?

How's the weather this week @ OP?
Which building did you get? Are you happy?

How's the beach? A while back, there was considerable erosion making it difficult to walk the beach. Has that levellled off?

Enjoy!
We love Ocean Pointe!

I did a trip report from our trip to OP last April. Check it out as I mentioned and reviewed a bunch of restaurants we visited. It is under the TUG Resort Databases under the Ocean Point reviews.

Does the Marriott Singer Island still allow you to charge your charges there to your Ocean Pointe or Oceana Palms folio? I know someone had reported at another resort that the co-located hotel and timeshare were not going to permit charges at the hotel to be placed on the timeshare folio.

Within walking distance is kind of tuff. Basically, you have Max and Eddie's, Two Drunken Goats, Johnny Longboats, NY Bagel & Deli, Subway and Sailfish Marina.

I doubt we'll ever return to Max and Eddie's. It was bad enough last time we just don't feel the need to waste another evening.

Two Drunken Goats was a new restaurant for us last trip. For us it's mixed it's a mixed reveu. I really enjoyed it while the wife can tolerate it. We went twice for lunch. Both times I had a really good meal. While they have seafood, I don't know how "fresh" fresh seafood is for this restaurant. I had the grouper for one lunch and thought it was really good. I had a tuna melt the other time and really loved it.

Johnny Longboats has a decent menu but, we've just never been thrilled with the quality or the pricing. It is very popular and is always busy so I'd say this is just a personal thing with us.

NY Bagel and Deli was also new to us. Basically it's just breakfast, coffee and lunch (sandwhiches). I had breakfast there one morning and wouldn't recommend it. It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything to write home about either. Next time I'll stick with just getting a bagel and a cup of coffee. I did enjoy sitting on the patio and being able to smell the ocean and people watch. It's a nice enough place & I'll probably go back. I just won't oder one of their breakfast platters.

Sailfish Marina has always been decent. We prefer them for breakfast and/or lunch more than for dinner. They do offer "fresh" seafood options and when I had their stone crab claws they were some of the biggest I've ever seen. Most of our meals there have been adaquate but not so impressive I'd give them 5 stars. Mostly, we enjoy the atmosphere.

Subway......we'll......it's Subway. I'd rather stop in NY Bagel and Deli for a sandwhich and sit on their patio.
