Going on a cruise again, finally

Yes, that is the alcohol package. Ken555, there is a recent Thanksgiving review on Cruise Critic written by a young couple, with children, that had the alcohol package.

But is the cruise alcohol package the same as the "alcoholic" package

At my age, we cruise for good service, good food and to be able to relax from 7 to 10 days on a cruise ship.

We are not party people.

IMHO, the OP, needs to research this cruise line and the demographic age of their cruisers.
Only 2 of us drink. I’d be more into ocean, islands, snorkeling. Looks like that 10 day isn’t the plan now so pretty much doing the prep, like getting Real ID and passport. Last time I needed to renew DL, I knew I wasn’t going to live there long so didn’t pay extra for Real ID, being quite sure I wasn’t flying anywhere! Hasn’t expired but need to update to current addy anyhow.

geekette, suggestion only if you have time. Please go over to the Cruise Critics web site (it is free to join) and clip on Margaritaville at Sea and you can read current information on this cruise line. Please enjoy your time at sea.
Love CC, kinda the Tug of cruising. Helped me a lot back in 2006 before Alaska cruise.

But I’m still in limbo waiting to know the plan. Trying to not get excited about a cruise I don’t end up taking! Overall, I’d prefer a mainstream cruise line. If I really want to go to Aruba, I can book a timeshare and fly there.

Just take you time, research and relax or visit a good travel agency. Sometimes they can offer you some good onboard credits. . There are so many cruise lines going to Aruba.. You will have long sea day going to the Southern Caribbean and returning to Florida.

Look for a cruise that includes Aruba, Bonaire and Curcaso. Known as the ABC Islands. Also, hurricanes knownly skip the ABC Islands.

Aruba, also, have some amazing timeshares you can choice from.

Please make should you have all the proper necessary /identification you need for for your cruise vacation.

Traveling policies to Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean are changing.

To the OP, there is a current review on the ABC island over on CC.
It is under the Celebrity Cruise forum and the cruiser sailed on the Celebrity Silly Cruise Ship; true name is the Silhouette. This is a "S" class Celebrity with real balconies.
This is information only.

To the OP., please go to CC website and check the Forum: called ..Ports of Call.. go to the Caribbean Forum and you can search each Island and any Islands in the Caribbean. You wish to visit.

Relax and enjoy your upcoming cruise to the Caribbean islands.

Just an FYI -- not sure if you are in this situation, but if the people in one of the cabins really want the drink package on the ship, then DO NOT book all the cabins as a group cruise, book individual cabins instead. Many (most?) cruise lines now require all of the group cabins to have the same drink package level (none, sodas only, standard, etc.). This is to combat a group booking and the people from one cabin obtaining all the drinks for everyone else in the group.

That is excellent advice. To the OP, please share that advice with your group and your travel agent.
