Hello

Has anyone used this company to close a resale? I recently puchased a TS on ebay for $1.50. I have to pay 2013 MF but closing and resort tarnsfer being paid by owner. Is this a decent company?

Also, does anyone know...at what point in the process should I be asked to cough up the 2013 MF and what guarentee should I ask for that would show, with certainty, that I am the owner of the TS that I bought.

I know resale is the way to go...but lots of horror stories on here about scams. My ebay seller had a great satisfaction record, so I am hoping this is above board!

I used this company for a starwood timeshare I purchased on ebay a few years ago, if you search my posts you can see my post about them. If I remember correctly, they were fine, except they screwed up my name on my deed and submitted my deed as biennial instead of annual, when I notified them of this they corrected the errors on the deed and everythhing was fine after that. I dont think you have anything to worry about, just use due dilligence as you would with any transaction.
 
Most of the scams are not from EBay sellers. I've heard good and bad about
Sean. Just watch the sales agreement and make sure your getting what you
Bid on. Usually you pay when you send back the sales agreement.
 
Basically, if you buy a timeshare from a PERSON, you could get hit with a scam. But, as long as it's from a reputable company (like CJ Timeshares, TTTimeshares, Sumday, etc), you should be fine. Looking at their eBay ratings usually gives a good idea of how they are, so if they have hundreds or thousands, you're good. If they have under a hundred, caution is advised.

Because those companies handle a LOT of timeshares, there's always the chance some issues may come up. Maybe it's Biennial but listed as Annual, or (in the case of Wyndham) fixed week vs UDI. Reputable companies will work to fix any issues during the transfer.

So, the big thing is, you're in good hands. If you see an issue, get it straightened out immediately! And knnow that those companies aren't out for fraud.

Most ebay sellers that are companies use an in house closing and escrow. I do not believe Sean is any different but I could be wrong. This is the price you pay for getting a timeshare so cheap.

I am in the process of closing one right now with them. It is not completed but so far so good.

Like any timeshare purchase you have to make sure the seller crossed the t's and dotted the i's, because they can be very sloppy. One evening I was up late and noticed Sean posted some new ebay listings. Three that I was looking at all had errors but most would not notice. He must have been tired. I do like his customer friendly communication style.
 
Also, they very conveniently use an online update system. This way you usually do not have to hound them for updates. You are able to see where the process is without having to call or email. What is also neat about this feature is that you can see the log from the inception of them receiving the unit, including notes on communication with the original seller. The Donate for a Cause closing company also has a similar online update system.
 
I am using them for one timeshare I bought on eBay. We are waiting for Marriott's response now. So far its been good.

You are using them or were they a requirement of the purchase? I have never heard of anyone choosing the use one of these closing companies. Also, it is no mystery that no two PCC eBay sellers use the same closing company. At least not that I know of. Some of them make an effort to make the company appear independent and others have an address next door.

of course, they were required. But it also came with free closing. Also, what I liked about Sean is that I was not able to travel for limited weeks that were available in 2013 so I did not pay 2013 maintenance and Sean will rent it out and we agreed that my usage will start in 2014 (if it goes through ROFR of course).

I bought 2 timeshares from Sean. One is in works now but the other one had error in listing (1 bedroom deluxe vs 1 br premium at harborside atlantis) and when I pointed that out in closing documents prior to signing them, he (and the closing company) verified it and offered an apology with a full refund back to my credit card within the next couple of days.
 
Sean was solid for us

We bought a HGVC from Sean and he was right on the money in terms of timing. Deal closed fine. Very happy.
 
I used them recently for a purchase on eBay from Sean's Timeshares in January. I had nothing but a positive experience. The communication I had with Sean and Global was prompt. The processor I dealt with from Global was Elizabeth Carvajal. She was very professional throughout and communicated by email every process that was completed through a tracking acct she set up. The transaction was completed swiftly within 4-6 weeks. I would definitely recommend them and use their services again. I would also recommend Sean's Timeshares as well and use them again without hesitation.

We also just closed on a transaction through Sean on eBay that went through Global Resort Transfer. Global has a web portal that you can log into to see some limited information about your individual transaction. However, the person we worked with was very good with responses to our questions. From signed contracts back to them to when we received our packet from the resort took just under two months.

The BBB is a big liar. There are 4 unsolved complaints and three of them occurred after the "revoke" date. I seriously doubt the BBB would ever revoke a paying customer for 1 unsolved complaint in that amount of time. What likely occurred was Global Resort Transfer did not pay their renewal bill. While I do look at the BBB as a general reference, the business itself is now just one big scam. It is a "pay for rating" service with zero credibility.

I personally take complaints against a timeshare mill with a grain of salt. Upfront fee payers will many times not be happy. Buyers usually have unrealistic expectations and will also not be happy. It is the nature of the beast.

Even better reference - no issue on a refund

During my second dealing with Sean / Global Resort Transfer, unfortunately the company exercised their right of first refusal ROFR. Sean sent back all of the money - as promised in their ebay listing. Will continue to do business with them whenever they have what I need!
