I Just did a t/s presentation @ GEVC today. I know that the general consensus is to avoid these presentations like the plague. What I'm sharing, however, is simply my personal opinion and is listed here with the purpose of adding a bit of clarity as to what GEVC is ( since there doesn’t seem to be a review here)

I still have some questions regarding specific details but for the most part I feel I can write a review of GEVC.

For starters, the presentations went exactly as every other one we've read about. From the lobby greeting, to the video, to the one-on-ones and the continuous upsell by managers, it was all standard protocol.

What they are selling is a 10k RCI points package. The cost for said package is around $8k and Mf run about $250/ year. Their main marketing focus was the extra vacations and the last minute calls. They built their entire presentation around the fact that you can get full vacations for $500. Of course they don't mention that the inventory at that price is either low quality, AI mandatory or simply not available when you want to travel.

They also Bill themselves as being "one" with RCI saying things like "we have an A rating with the bbb" or "We give you access to 4,000 resorts world wide". As a matter of fact their actual presentation is simply going through the RCI web page and pulling up the extra vacations page (with a filter of $300-$499, which you would only notice if you have spent as much time on RCI as I have).

The main speaker was a super charismatic guy who used to sell funeral plots. I would not characterize his speech as lies, but rather distortions of the truth.

In the end, I did as I always do. At the 95 minute mark, I simply stood up and said that this was not for me. I did not explain why, or try to argue why I thought this was not a good product, I simply stood up. I went through a very quick round of the managers, and was lead to the gifting desk fairly quickly. The entire experience from door to door was 110 minutes. My gift for going is RT Hawaii airfare and acomodations for 2 (there are some hoops you have to jump through, but for the most part, I'd say it was worth 2 hours of my day)

Although I would not recommend this company in general, I do think for some it might serve a purpose. ONLY If you can find one of these re-sale for a buck, it can be a very cheap way to have access to RCI last call inventory, and any other good things there may be about RCI.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

My understanding is that these pkgs. are all but impossible to book, and have hidden fees.

right on point

My understanding is that these pkgs. are all but impossible to book, and have hidden fees.

You are right on the money. The extra fees are about $100 for both. The flights have to be weekday - weekday and cannot be around any holidays. also the process of booking will take 60 - 90 days, so if you are looking to fly in the next month, it's simply not going to happen.

I'd say that for 75% of the people, it simply wont work. But for those who are willing to jump through the hoops, it might be worth the hassle.

my bottom line is this; Rt flights for me would come to about $800. if this saves me even half, it's as if I worked 2 hours and made $400.

I am in the minority with you and do attend sales pitches if bribe is right. Since have not made a Developer purchase in over 11 years no problem on a rainy day, broke and a free dinner show is available, just pooped out, etc. Setting the cell phone timer, etc. is one of several techniques to get out on time although does not work in Mexico.

My experience is these "vouchers" are issued by fly by night companys that sell cheaply to Developers/promoters, etc. There is no way they can redeem even half of them based on AGs who have shut down. They also contain a disclaimer promoter who gave to you is not responsible for any problems.

As you observed there are many hoops. Also, most offer upgrades at outrageous price.

One I got was two nights and three days in Vegas including plane fare. Turns out left Denver around midnight Monday and Vegas around 6:00AM Wednesday and way off strip.

Other was for two free plane tickets to Hawaii. However, to use had to buy a $2,000 package.

Would be interested how things turn out! With your best price around $800 voucher company maybe can get something for $500-$600 but if selling for $200 to $300 they simply have to make almost impossible to use.

Don't Do it - Global EXchange Club

I am confident to say 'Don't do it', because I did it...
Signed up for the whole package without doing any research, thought it sounded like a great deal until we found it was completely impossible to book anything (of course it's busy sir, everyone wants to go there) was a typical answer from Global/RCI of whoever it was we were speaking to having been given the run around for hours.

We've been at this now for a couple of months and have actually just stopped our payments..... it may hurt my wife's credit, which will be ok in the end, but at least we aren't throwing money down the drain at these people.

To say they are now rude is an understatement... we receive a call every day, at least 3 or 4 times a day, from 1800, 714, 480 area codes, maybe thinking they are tricky calling from different area's to make you answer.. but we answer every time and simply say 'We would like all correspondence in writing please".... but you signed a contract, you need to pay....!!! "we'd like all correspondence in writing please"... eventually they get fed up and understand we won't talk on the phone..

My point to all this, WE WERE SCAMMED!!! no doubt about it, and I question anyone who believes this is a good system, its straight up a scam and Global exchange should be shut down... Shame on those people working there receiving a salary or commission for scamming people... What goes around comes around....Carma will get you i'm sure.. or at least I hope.

And if Carma doesn't, then cousin Karma surely will. ;)

Regardless, I am truly sorry that you bought into the pitch and were inevitably disappointed. I'm not sure that this "Global" operation literally qualifies a "scam", but at best they are certainly selling a very low value "product"; basically offering only unwanted RCI dregs and other "Last Call Leftovers" --- for relatively serious money.
