If I'm gifted a developer purchased deed from a friend and use Grand Vacations Title to do the gift transfer, do I maintain the developer benefits including counting toward elite status? I know if I use LTT it is automatically considered resale and no longer counts towards elite status.

no. Elite and Max do not transfer with change of ownership. just because it is free, doesn't mean it is worth owning. Double check the MF/pt....ideally it is 0.10 or less unless you want to use HW. The higher that you get above 0.10, the worse deal it is because it is expensive to use as a points generator.

We are EP and were hoping the gifted deed would count toward elite status. We want to get rid of our Trump deed and if the gifted deed (MF/pt less than .10) had counted toward it, we would not loose status.

We looked into getting Craig Lodge to help maintain EP, but would need a couple deeds. After calculations it would take over 15 years for the buy value to surprass the difference saved in MF. Maybe we will just have to keep checking back with him for a good deed.

In the rules guide, there is a section that said elite status doesn't transfer. How many points do you need if you dumped Trump?

Yeah, that would require a could but if you were able to get two 1 bed plat weeks for about $2k each and about $800 in MFs what is your break even point? Plus, those two weeks would give you access to DEX for more options... And now direct access to RCI... Not the HGV version of RCI

I didn't even think about the 1 bd since the MF/pt is more than .10. It would be about 10 yr break even.

Full RCI access is a perk, but I wonder if the resorts I've been eyeing, such as Anantara (wish I had taken advantage when they had a partnership) ever get deposits.

Thank you @HuskerATL I will keep checking on CL.

Anantara is available in DEX. We booked one in Thailand for later this year

I thought DEX were for the Diamond properties only. Now we really need to look into CL.

Been wanting to go to Anantara's Koh Samui resort. Right when w were ready to go HGVC had just broke off that partnership

No, they are Diamond, Embarc, and many partner properties outside of DRI. Similar to RCI.

I haven't done the counts but I suspect there are more non-DRI than DRI with all the global partners

We booked a 2 bed suite at Anantara Koi Samui... Using a bonus week so it only cost the upgrade and exchange fee since it is a Tier 6 and our 1 bed plat is Tier 4. Not bad for a week. The week cost us about the cost of 1 night if we booked direct.
