Need some info. Interval International has called wanting me to book some of the Getaway certificates that I have not used. They advise that I need to book 4 weeks ($400/week) and than trade them back with a guranteed return of between $1600-$1800 per week.......as they have individuals already lines up to use them. Generally when something seems to good to be true I generally believe it is........Anyone have any experience with this?

It's a scam.

The person who called you was not from Interval.

Think about it: why would the real Interval need you to rent these units? The answer will become obvious when whoever called you asks you to front "reimbursable" money.

It is a very common scam. You send them money and you never get anything back. It isn't Interval calling you . Interval doesn't allow you to rent out anything you get from them. They also don't need anyone's permission to rent out their getaways. If they had a renter lined up they would simply rent it out and keep all of the money.

I suggested that he pay the $400 and I would split the proceeds. LOL

Exactly. So odd that this simple fact slips by. Interval just wants to give away rental proceeds, and cold-calls people to see if they can give them free money????? And break their own rules in doing so??

I received a similar call to this today. Wanted an up front activation fee. Said this was a "Maintenance Fee Offset Program." Supposedly would then rent up to six (supposedly six is a tax free cap), min of four, of my Interval weeks to corporate people they work with for conventions. Said they I'd net ~$1k per week I entered in to an agreement with them. Wanted to send DocuSign agreement and would then take a credit card for the activation fee.

I get 4 to 7 calls like this a week. It is a scam.

UPDATE: I think I got bad Karma all of a sudden, today so far I have had 7 of these calls. I don't answer them, they did not leave a VM. It is one plus about having a cell phone from a different area code than the one you live in. Anyone calling from that Area Code that I know are in my cell phone, everyone else I do not answer, they do not leave a msg.

I get these calls almost daily from someone always wanting to rent my getaway weeks. They leave me voicemails, I block the number, they call from a different number, rinse & repeat over and over again.
