I started using this site to sell back old electronics and cell phones. It has been great. The site is affiliated with Best Buy, as you can probably tell from the address. You fill out the form, they give you an estimate and prepaid shipping, you ship it to them, and they send you a gift card for Best Buy.

I'm sure some people just use Craig's List or something like that. I would rather not have the hassle of dealing with people I don't know calling or emailing me, so this is perfect.

So far, I've received $34 for a 6 year old Sony digital camera, $50 for a 6 year old Sony camcorder, $27 for a 2 year old Motorola RAZR V3, and $36 for a 2 year old Motorola KRZR K1M. I'm shipping them an 8 year old Digital Projector w/extra bulb. The estimate for that is $150. Of the 4 items I've already completed, they only took $1 off the initial estimate for the camcorder because the spare battery wouldn't hold a charge.

Costco has something similar that I read the particulars online last week called Trade In and Recycle. I just went to the site now though and it says temporarily unavailable. The link is under electronics.

Thanks for the link!

Cell phones for soldiers

There is an organization that accepts donations of old cell phones and recycles them for use by US soldiers.

You won't put any cash into your pocket, but you may feel good about your donation.

I wouldn't use a gift card at best Buy even if they paid me too. They ripped me off big time.
