My favorite band growing up and saw them in 2007 in Dusseldorf, Berlin, Ottawa and Toronto.

First time I saw them was in 1978 and tickets were $5.50, $6.50 and $7.50. LOL

Also saw Peter Gabriel solo shortly after that for $4.00.

I saw them once, on their Invisible Touch tour in '87. Also saw Gabriel that year, which was really cool. Both concerts were phenomenal.

Genesis is such an underrated band, with their many lineups and sounds. Some of their musical arrangements were so complicated they couldn't replicate them live. I especially like their post-Gabriel, pre-MTV sound like on Trick of the Tail.

And Then There Were Three had just come out when I first saw them. I do prefer their "older" music over some of their "newer" efforts. I saw Steve Hackett in a small theater setting a couple of years ago and he played various solo tunes in Set 1 and then the entire Selling England by the Pound (which had been released 45+ years prior) in Set 2 + a few bonus Genesis songs.

I know he's not with the band, but this is just a beautiful version of Firth of Fifth by Steve Hackett, with a full orchestra. The Genesis most have never heard!

Now this would be worth the ticket! Grew up on prog rock and Genesis are one of the best! That's a good Steve Hackett version of Firth of Fifth! I'm always a little leary of orchestral backing of rock or prog rock songs. Worst I ever heard was Sting's Synchronicity tour with the London SO...somehow 'Roxanne' sung softly to strings and no reggae backbeat, just didn't cut it!

Hyundai Genesis ?

No. Star Trek's Genesis...

"What exactly is Genesis? Well, put simply, Genesis is life from lifelessness."
